From what little I skimmed over (fucker is 10 pages so the hell I'm reading it all unless I'm paid) it seems like a big 'no u' and claims they did everything right when they went before the FISA court and the Republicans are liars just trying to discredit them because politics. Also there's some redactions but apparently the Democrats agreed on those redactions and it's speculated they detail the modes and methods of the investigation.

One interesting thing though is the memo doesn't really get into why they're right or telling the truth, just that they were.

Either way, begun, the memo wars have.

I think they botched the timing of the release in regards to the news cycle. The Florida school shooting is dominating the national discourse at present and will probably be at the top until at least the end of the month. They should have released it before or shortly after the Republican memo in order to split media coverage and citizens' attention. As it stands, the Republican memo enjoyed weeks of everyone's uninterrupted attention and saturation coverage before the news cycle shifted its focus.

Basically it's "Carter Page was temporarily spied on because the FBI said he's a Russia agent, thus FISA was not abused once, stop asking. Also leave Strzok and Page out of this, they did serious questionable stuff, too, but it has nothing to do with this."

The memo never said it was the DOJ who paid Steele, it said it was the DNC and Clinton campaign who paid him. Though if you want to believe the Internet, then it was 4chan who made it up and sent it to Steele.
