Nobody will understand it, because it makes no sense. Have you bought the first DVD, which is for sale in Canada? If people don't buy the first one, it just makes it less likely that the subsequent DVDs will be released.

If you "require" the "spiritual support" of a commercial enterprise in any aspect of your life, you are doomed to disappointment.
Until Viz starts streaming Sailor Moon '92 in Canada, the company has not earned any of my money. I'm not buying any of the company's merchandise until that stream begins, and if that never happens, well then I will simply have to choose never to watch Viz's offering of Sailor Moon.

Exactly. No company is going to take a financial gamble if it appears there isn't a support for a certain thing in a certain location.
But the company has already taken that gamble by promising to get Neon Alley into Canada. And my insight has told me that is impossible, so Viz is essentially misrepresenting the situation they are in with regard to Canada.

Have you been working with OCD therapists about this? Have you been working with any therapists at all? I don't have any experience with the Canadian healthcare system, but I would assume that there's some kind of aftercare in place for when patients are released from the overnight ward in psychiatric hospitals.
I am working with a psychiatrist, and a member of my family has been giving me a very clinical perspective on my situation. I just had a meeting with my psychiatrist yesterday, and I will continue to see him as long as this state of affairs is in effect and probably even after it somehow gets fixed.

A psychiatrist prescribes you medication, they don't do the actual therapy bit. While medication will definitely help I think seeing a psychologist on a regular basis would do wonders for you. Especially one that specializes in OCD behavior. Because until you can learn ways to separate yourself enough from Sailor Moon to where you can enjoy it on a healthy level this is probably just going to be a vicious cycle. A good psychologist can literally save your life.

I am looking up psychologists and OCD therapists in my area now. I just hope such therapy is covered under MSP here in BC.

Excellent, I'd also recommend asking your psychiatrist or anyone else who worked with you in the hospital (that you liked, key thing here) if they can refer you to therapists in the area. Good doctors often work in networks with other good doctors and can get you connections with people who you might not have found otherwise.

I actually read your rather large post and I kind of understand where you're coming from. We have rules here against "As a faggot-kin myself I too... etc etc" kind of discussions, so I'll leave it there, but I will say you desperately need therapy for OCD or general compulsions, and taking the first steps towards that is good. Keep at it I'm certain it'll help you a lot with this.

Honestly, that seems super reasonable. If a commercial product isn't available in your preferred format, choosing not to purchase it is a logical solution.

So what are your next steps? Working with your psychiatrist (and I hope therapist{s}; INeedAttachments's suggestions are absolutely right on) to manage your responses to the situation? I hope so, and wish you all the best in moving on and getting perspective.

While we're spitballing and if you're serious, I can actually help you with this. Without giving too much away, I work in mental health/addictions and have a lot of community resources - even if you're on the island, I can still help out. Navigating the system can be a pain in the ass.

The Obsessed SM Fan Do you mind if I ask you some questions about the Sailor Moon fandom?

1.) What's your opinion on the owner of Dies Gaudii, Ian Andreas Miller? (the guy who was obsessed with latin and Sailor Saturn)?

2.) Did you ever post on Sailor Moon Uncensored?

Sure, you can ask me.
1) I really don't have an opinion on Ian Miller. He's entitled to be a meticulous Sailor Moon expert, as is the case with me.
2) No. I've browsed the site, but never noticed any kind of discussion forum on it.

I don't have any other favourite anime titles. Just Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal. I have tried watching other anime offerings, but the only reaction I had to all of them was "meh". If I want to watch something else, I just go to YouTube.

Not even other magical girl titles? Like, say, Revolutionary Girl Utena or Cutie Honey?

I know a lot of Sailor Moon fans who adore both of those series. It never hurts to expand your horizons.

I have a few other interests, such as playing Scrabble and geocaching.

Not even any other magical girl anime, such as Tokyo Mew Mew, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, or Ojamajo Doremi, seem to interest me. I have only ever been attracted to Sailor Moon.
