Becoming God is the Great Work in my ideology / religion. It's audacious (also completely inherent in our existence; it is what we are doing) but there are very many small wins along the path that we should strive for. And we are already striving for them, even if it's not with the express intention of becoming God.

Civilization 6 has a "mix&match" your own religion as part of the game mechanics, setting up your in-game religion by picking from preset beliefs.

You can set up a religion where resources are accumulated by worshipping natural features like volcanoes, the sea, wild game, mining metals, etc.

Other options focus on worshipping natural beauty, colonization, war, etc.

Some builds focus on worshipping world wonders and shrines. Others focus on historical relics and attracting tourism.

Some builds try to get rich by getting citizens and cities to pay tithes. Others focus on scientific research or developing culture.

Options also include building strength for offensive crusades and war while others give benefits to defending the motherland.

A lot of the builds in the end focus on how to remove barriers to spreading your chosen beliefs far and wide.
