They're good if you feel the need to move around while you think, work, or study. It'll help a bit with fitness. Won't hurt you, so why not?

Yeah I just need a boost of activity in my life. Plus is so boring to sit on my ass.

Shit that’s a good fucking idea. Where you find that at? As someone with a body sculpted to the proportions of Thor himself, I’m always interested in new exercise ideas.

I've had a stationary bike I put at my desk sometimes. Depends on your work how much you can use it but it may be worth it for you.
Definitely helped me build up the basics for my current real biking for transportation.

I don't think I could ever stand having a permanent desk job.
I had to go on light duty at one point and was stuffed behind a desk and it was fucking torture.
Everybody in that office was like a fucking middle-schooler and I think I can understand why: lack of exercise or any outlet for stress makes people turn into gossiping assholes.

Good luck.

I miss tard wrangling in the mental hospital as that gave me free strength training. but I get paid more on sitting my ass than my pevious job and I'm working over time so I gotta fit in my excercise some where.

Sorry for double post but you can Google desk peddle and it would pull up results; as for the sit n cycle try and try to find it used as it 260 brand spanking new I bought mine from a church sale for 15 dollars.

I got one off of Craigslist, but it ended up being a bit too tall and I can't use it at my desk without my knees banging into the underside of my desk. I moved it to the couch instead and sometimes idly pedal on it while watching football or playing vidya, but the low angle of my couch makes it kind of uncomfortable to do it for an extended length of time.

I found this one at Amazon which is supposed to be shorter and move in more of a flat ellipsis than a circle like the one I bought, but it's a bit expensive ($102) so I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Anyway, I'd suggest those considering one to make sure that there will be enough room for it under your desk when you account for both the height of the machine and the height to the top of your knee.

What I'd really like to get one of these days is a standing desk… I've used a couple when in the Valley (or working at Valley-ish companies). They take some getting used to but they really are better for you than sitting on your ass all day.

Yeah I'm totally a standing desk guy
I did one for pretty cheap by going to a nearby Ikea and getting a medium-ish dinner table and a couple of tv stands. I've also seen people use a couple of the little end tables.
