Also, that's not a half bad custom. I don't see what's the problem with it - given that it's a generation 3 one, it probably isn't related to bronies.

It's usually not bronies who do custom mods/paints of the toys, especially pre-G4 ones. They're like 99% middle aged women who grew up with the brand and use their old ponies to create art. That Egyptian one is pretty intricate and probably took some modicum of talent to make.
