It's Gacha life (now gacha club. long story), basically one of those mobile dressup thing that got really popular with the kids for some reason.
It's infamous on the internet for the tons and tons of really questionable content. Some of which is something that they call Gacha Heat (Basically what they call porn made in gacha life.)
It's not all bad though, some of the creators manages to make something really good with the software.

However, for every one of these good pieces, you have to wade through millions of trash.

Black Midis are basically midis that seems to be made by someone on tons of illicit drugs. It's basically just screens and screens full of notes and the aural equivalent of having a drill bored into your ear canals.

I've been armchair psychologist'in on all of the other weird shit, but I really don't see the appeal as well. Is it because they are afraid of them and want to overcome some childhood fear. Or is it like furries where I think it's the colors not the fur.

This is an example of a bad post in this thread. We shouldn't have to go into an artists gallery to see the art that is horrific. A "lol look at this dude" with a slightly cringe image isn't sufficient. Post examples of the work.

I don't see any of that in his content unless he managed to DFE everything on the farms somehow. Do you have a quote to one of those posts? I'm starting to get interested now.

The DA forum just got fucked. They changed the layout, removed the religion, politics, software and hardware subforums as well as HTML editing options. A lot of forumers are now malding, I doubt it's gonna change anything, though, just speed up the rate of people jumping ship.

I don't really see the point of forums for fetish art or really anything anymore. At least for anything acceptable to host, funny considering that the worst stuff in this thread is considered more acceptable than posts on KF.

Discord is just faster. I think that's the way most of these smaller sites are going. I saw it happen when Ehentai shut down their forums and online gaming boards three years ago. Gaia online's forums just died. Pretty sure the same thing will happen to Pixiv.

I’ve seen a few of them when poking around people’s profiles in this thread and the fanfic horrors thread. Bbw-chan is the only one that comes to mind off the top of my head and it’s pretty much just a 4chan porn board with occasional sperging about trannies.

People like this also congregate in discord servers because they’re easier to make and easier to fortify from le unwholesome troles. If you want a hugbox where nobody can say mean things about you it’s a lot easier than to have a private discord than to burn time, money, and effort making your own resetera where you ban anybody who calls your fetish gross.

The forums were fun about 10-15 years ago, maybe even 7 years ago.

The complaints board used to have its own vitriolic culture that would probably appeal to many Kiwis. Any newfag bitching about some banal bullshit would get mercilessly grilled by the regulars, which would often lead to them leaving and never going back or maybe even spawning a couple of threads whining about the "meanie trolls :mad:", thus feeding them even more. Regulars would also get into drama with each other and post callout threads, until eventually callouts were banned, but factually they were still allowed cause the only thing that differentiated a callout from a non-callout was mentioning someone by the name, so as long as you merely implied who the person you were talking about was, you were fine, and all the regulars would know who you were talking about.

Around 2018 the activity started to slow down, probably due to old regs getting banned/moving on to greener pastures and new users never visiting the forums.

Some categories often housed primarily spam or invited divisive discussions that led to extensive moderation and an unpleasant environment. The new Forum structure is set up to make for a more fun and engaging community environment.
