I’m going to be sincere: I’m kind of scared. I’m someone who really doesn’t care for its Image, but I know this is genuine sensible territory. I shit in accusations of “Racism”, and I was always aware someone would call me a “pedophile” for drawing little girls, but even I admit this is going to far. A big part of me says this is something that mustn’t see the light of day, but other part of me, the winner part, says this is important to publish. Maybe is to push away taboos, but I think the bigger fact is curiosity. Part of me, wants to see “what’s going to happen”. All artists must push themselves from their limits, that’s the thesis of art itself, and an artist should always challenge its audience. But, well, maybe this is all excuses, and I just wanted to do this shit. So, I’m mickeyelric11, and this is another work for Toy Girls’ Collectibles Series. I’m going to talk about one of the tropes many of us are aware of: The Magic Skirt Trope. Since always, it was normal to have girls, women, and even old ladies, in skirts or dresses jumping, kicking, being upside down, or in any other situation where gravity will do its shit. However, in modern animation, while participation of female characters have raised, nowadays it’s preferred to keep out the panty shots, and this is comprehensible. Forgetting that not all female characters are hot ladies you want to see more, they take out much of the seriousness of a scene, especially considering a giant brick joke with male characters is having them in their heart boxers. Also, many animation works try not to sexualize female character so much, especially girls; even if they don’t have any problem with showing men, and even boys, half-naked, or even butt-naked. A simple solution to this would have been just putting action girls in pants, or at least shorts, or even giving them shorts under the skirt, but we actually got Magic Skirts in animation. With them, no matter what action girls do: they can jump, be upside down, raise their legs as high as possible for a kick, being struck by the wildest winds, and their skirts or dresses will always move in a way panties are never exposed. Again, I support this. Aside of keeping scenes from being goofy, I don’t want to see the undergarment of an old lady, a ugly chick, or being pandered sickly with the panties of a little girl. However, this gets easily obvious and forced. You want to have a girl fighting without showing her nether regions? Fine, give her shorts or combat pants, because, when you abused of the Magic Skirt, it gets pretty clear you want, in the bottom, to arouse male audiences with this temptation. Guys, they fictional characters, you want to give them a panty shot, like with Sailor Moon: once in a while doesn’t make any bad. Because, if you don’t want to be accused of sexualizing women, this just proves otherwise. Yes, it looks kind of cool fighting in school uniforms or Victorian dresses, but Goku dresses like he does for a reason, and even “Sailro Moon” allowed a skirt-lift once in a while. Today, I will talk about this example, dealing with this great girl character. For this Friday:
Mabel Pines, from “Gravity Falls”.
“Gravity Falls” is not 100% my cup of tea, but I really liked big part of it. It managed to create a complex, unique and amazing world and mythology, the characters are pretty complex, the animation amazing, and I liked a couple of episodes and messages pretty well.
However, this time I would like to talk about Mabel.
After watching this cartoon, Mabel is going to be one, if not the main one, character you will love the most. She is so likeable.
First, I’m so grateful she was written as the goofball instead of a nagging bitch like Gwen Tennyson. She is always in her pink little world, drools for boys, and she is always worried to make everyone around happy, a personality which smartly contrasts with the one of her brother. Maybe I identify a lot with Dipper, but it’s a joy to watch Mabel just being herself. She can be sometimes selfish, but still I loved this character so much. BTW; she is also a proud bearer of the Magic Skirt Trope.
Mabel doesn’t act like a proper lady, but that’s fine. She is always skipping, climbing stuffs, hanging from something, etc, however, instead of being drawn with a good pair of shorts, most of the time she is wearing a skirt. However, the animators are always sure to never show anything, and I grate them for that.
For example, the most famous scene of “Gravity Falls” ever is, without any doubt, Mabel not pressing the button in the episode “He is Not What He Seems”, and floating in the air giving her last chance of trust to Stan. Yes, she was wearing a skirt, and let herself go in the air with her legs open, in front of a portal sucking everything inside. The trope really helped to give the drama to this scene, because the mood would have been totally broken by a panty shot.
HOWEVER, again, the use of this trope is way abused. A little question: if you want Mabel acting like a Mexican Jumping Bean, why didn’t you draw her with a short, or jeans, instead? I mean, I know Mabel in that episode didn’t have any idea she would be in a zero gravity chamber, but the animators did. Even I’m pretty sure Mabel would be more comfortable in a pair of pants seeing all the action she does. Man, even she likes to sit upside down. Enough said.
With all this, I got an idea for a remake of Mabel Pines’ Toy Girl.
Therefore, in this scene we see Mabel being struck by a gust of wind, and so her skirt is lifted. I’d like to imagine this was after Mabel decided to go skipping for all the forest, then she made a cartwheel, walked upside down a branch covered in syrup, like in “Naruto”, and then landed from a 2 yards height, in a gymnastic pose, and her skirt kept her covered. But only a little wind passed, and her defense was broken. The ironi makes this work feel less terrible.
For her clothing, I thought in drawing her in her classic sweater, like with her first Toy Girl. However, when I was making this drawing by hand, coincidentally, it aired on TV two episodes of “Gravity Falls”, one of them being “The Inconveniencing”, where Mabel wore the Music Note Sweater. So, I used it for the work.
Yes, I know I could easily go to the classic route of white underpants. However, seeing that Cuteness is still a priority, I decided to give them so details, so I made them pink stripped, laced, and with a ribbon, so you can have a giggle while seeing them.
To represent the wind, I found a screenshot of the Hands Minisode, were many leaves were flying on the air, so I decided to draw them for this, even copying the same design.
Even if still some part of me is telling me this was a mistake, the bigger one says me this was necessary. Again, it’s important to push your limits. However, again, NO, this won’t allow requests with panty shots, and I’m still 100% against of sexualizing underage characters. This was just an experiment, and now I want to see the results. I better keep the panty shots out for a while, because“Cuteness shall last”.

Her heart beating furiously, Jackie felt pinned down between Shay and the mattress, but it wasn't fear that kept her in place. More like some sort of dark curiosity. Truth be told, she was just as responsible for steering the conversation -and events- as he. The chemistry Jackie and Shay had was not one of good friendship after all. It was a different kind of chemistry.
While her experience in relationships was admittedly... limited, Jackie knew what she wanted, if only subconsciously. How long Shay had shared this... feeling was his secret.
But Jackie knew the ropes. She didn't have to be a pro. In the end, young people all have more in common than they often think. Tongues went places, hands went places... and perhaps as she adjusted her shirt and gathered her books to say goodnight, Jackie may have been relieved that no more than Shay's shirt hit the floor.
But as she made her way back to her own dorm in the still chill May Colorado night, Jackie was numb.
What happens next? How will they react the next time they see each other?

Jackie Hopps is a Zootopia OC I created for a story. It's not just Zootopia universe, but takes place in the larger 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' universe. It's complicated and I know it's not for everyone, but basically, she's the sister of Judy Hopps who dreams of joining the Air Force. The REAL Air Force. The story assumes the WFRR universe plus about 60 years. Toons are just beginning to win the right to serve in branches of the government in the world outside Toontown.
As you can see, one of the things I am attempting to explore is the practical issues of how humans would interact with toons on social or even romantic levels.

Jackie Hopps is a Zootopia OC I created for a story. It's not just Zootopia universe, but takes place in the larger 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' universe. It's complicated and I know it's not for everyone, but basically, she's the sister of Judy Hopps who dreams of joining the Air Force. The REAL Air Force. The story assumes the WFRR universe plus about 60 years. Toons are just beginning to win the right to serve in branches of the government in the world outside Toontown.
As you can see, one of the things I am attempting to explore is the practical issues of how humans would interact with toons on social or even romantic levels.

If I see one more picture on the front page of Toriel hyperventilating or covered in blood I'm going to fucking lose it.
I've heard tickling, especially if you're bound, can cause people to think they're going to suffocate and die and if they have a gag on it actually hurts their esophagus and lungs. I really don't understand how anyone can find that sexy.
Also fuck that person who drew that cornflower pic. I loved, and watch it with my cousin to this day, redwall when I was a kid.
