Can anyone familiar with deviantArt explain why people over there are butthurt over something called "core membership"? I have heard the term tossed around here and there.

They changed the "Premium Member" title to "Core" member. I'm not sure why. I think it's kind of a weird name change, but pretty much every time there's a major change people complain and then later forget about it.
Premium accounts get perks like more customization options for your profile, and the ability to become a beta tester and see all the new awful changes before they get fully implimented.

I don't think dA even gives two shits any more. Especially when Pony tits and Steve (from Blue's Clues) visibly jacking off are things that someone felt the need to draw uncensored.

The Steve pick was behind a wall. You have to have an account and agree to view "mature" content to see it. I don't think the Regular Show one was censored though.
