If this truly is the case, and Dev commits to this decision, then I will give him begrudging applause for doing something smart for a change.

The sad truth is that Dev attracted a political audience that he disagrees with. He did so by the fact that his initial videos primarily criticized a shared ideological enemy in the far/progressive left. But as his poltics became more known, and the political pendulum began to switch, his clashing with his audience was growing fatal. It's a sadly common thing in political channels that don't IMMEDIATELY underline the ideology of the channel.

If Dev wanted to continue his Political analysis he either needed to remove ALL political ambiguity in a STRUCTURED video, (So No sip/stream shit) or win a public political debate against a competent opponent representing his audience's opinion in a fair and unbiased arena. That he ducked out entirely, while disappointing, is understandable. And probably the closest we'll ever get to an admission of defeat.

As for his new focus on Drama videos? Eh...

Different waters for sure. Setting aside the Red Ocean nature of that field, news moves really quickly and Dev's habit of "waiting" will hurt him here. It was... tolerable, for political analysis because of how slow the political and legal system is, but dramatube is another story.

As for the vtubers I literally have no idea what he’s doing, but given esoteric knowledge I have he probably just likes talking to young girls on the internet pretending to be anime girls because it makes him feel good.

Dev would have had a much easier time retaining an audience if he did not continually fight with his audience during his Weekly Seethes and deliberately antagonize people who were giving him money. There's only so many times you can call someone a blithering retard before they stop giving you money. That and proper channel management.

We're still waiting on...like six or so politics videos that Dev promised, including an Israel/Palestine one (that was his only sponsored vid lol), the trucker one, the other two parts of the Trump J6 garbage, and the two videos on why Biden and Harris are bad candidates for the 2024 election. Assuming I didn't hallucinate him promising these, of course, and there's probably a lot more that I'm forgetting.

That being said, I can't wait for him to release the next drama video and watch it just flop.

I wonder if Dave finally got tired of Dev's shit, or if he realized that getting paid to be the editor for the SFO channel means nothing when the guy who usurped it from you can't monetize worth a damn anymore. Either way, I wish the best for Dave after shedding the 350-pound albatross from his neck.

He was a hidden lolcow in the making for so long, even during Covid days he wasn't so bad, or at the very least, didn't sounded so, mostly cause you were depressed during those awful months and year and a half, that you didn't paid attention to the warning signs of things to come.
