OKC glowed hard, I personally believe it was a gayop by the Clinton admin to make sure the ATF wouldn't be shut down and take the wind out of the militia movements.
Fun facts: a lot of the shit in the Patriot Act was originally written based on OKC bombing aftermatch. In fact almost everything in the Patriot Act was written way before 9/11 and was just waiting for a excuse to be pushed. It was tried in reponse to OKC and failed, but after 9/11 it managed to pass. Timothy McVeigh kept fedposting in gun shows and shit about killing Janet Reno and Lon Horiuchi but people didn't go for it as they figured he was glowing or some sort of trap. Instead of doing it himself (which would have been much more acceptable and far more rational retribution) he went to bomb a ATF office, managing to choose the ONE OFFICE which was also next to a kindergarten. That clip was a difficult watch and now I feel compelled to sperg out about it here, so if you ignore me I understand. It's almost like Dev has no empathy. How can you read the part about somebody shooting at you and your dog, seemingly unprovoked and think that it was wrong to return fire and act in self defense. How can you get to the point where you're reading this, see that the big catalyst for the raid is a missed court date and say things like "If you miss your court date you get fucked" and then go on to read about the marshall shooting first and not backing up and taking back things you've said? Like that's the main issue here, his hard-headedness of needing to "identify as correct" and then going against his own principles of not saying anything until you have all the data. It's one of the reasons he claims the trucker video is taking so long, since he was waiting for court cases and whatnot to finish. He even jumps to conclusions about things said and written and applies what he believes it says to it, the part where the dog "revealed his position" he read as "the dog charged the officer", which is especially funny because the report showed the dog was facing away from him since the bullet "[entered] two inches from the dog's anus, and [exited] the chest". Which is great juxtaposed next to him sperging out over a chatter jumping to conclusions about what dev's been talking about the last few minutes, saying that dev said "it is acceptable to murder a gut from the over entrapment" and dev responding, "I didn't even say that now you're just lying about what I said". Yeah that's not a direct quote, but that's a conclusion that can be taken based on everything you said up until now, mostly because you're doing hot takes instead of educating yourself about the topic first, like you tell everyone else to do.
The rest of this is him then doing the things that pissed me off about him initially. He then goes and lumps everyone that thinks Ruby Ridge and/or Waco was bad and using it as evidence that you can't trust the government as being what he calls a rightoid. A word that I can't entirely tell what his definition is, but it seems he only has 3 distinctions: leftoids, rightoids and himself/people who agree with him. His loose definition of it is putting people who just don't trust the government at face value into the same camp he puts something like christian nationalists. I absolutely hate that he keeps lumping people like me in the same group as people I don't want to associate with. I hope he reads through the Ruby Ridge and Waco stuff and realizes how awful of a handling it was, if not he's lost because even normies can look at those two events and realize how fucked up it is.
By the way, I'm looking for the source of dev saying "i identify as correct" because I remember him doing it unironically and I would love to have that.

Equally accurately, he's the kind of fuck who thinks that the January 6th arrestees who haven't been charged with a crime or given trial and have been sitting in prison for years is perfectly acceptable, because obviously they did something to deserve it.
There has always been a particularly ugly core at the heart of all of Dev's bullshit, but you can see most clearly when he full-throatedly either defends ridiculous acts of government overreach, or, almost as commonly, pretends they don't exist, as he did with Trudeau's naked power-grab during the Trucker Protests, wherein, after refusing to meet with the Truckers at all or address their concerns in any capacity, had his cabinet unilaterally vote to give it sweeping emergency powers and subsequently vote to make those powers permanent with the specific intent of fucking over the protestors and those who were supporting them.

Dev has this obssesion with audience capture, which for him is what happens when an influencer starts to shift his positions and become more "radical" because of the influence from the audience that he attracts. He believes that this is what happened to the likes of Don Sargone and the skeptics at large. What he doesn't realize is that what happened to Sargon is that he matured as a person and became a rwsponsible family man, instead of staying a perpetual manchild with a conception of the world fitting for a kid fresh out of college but who's actually right at the start of middle age

I have suspicions as to what happened, though no proof per se: Dev lives in a particularly lefty bubble IRL, and while that bubble is generally fairly comfortable with minor mutinies from him, he's made absolutely clear he has few principles and all it realistically would have taken is a bit of IRL pressure from people in his life, even if he has argued otherwise. He is Canadian, after all. The infuriating part is that he fucking knows better and has multiple IRL examples in his own life, that he has talked about at length in his own videos, of people who turned on him for failing to radicalize alongside them.
Being in a situation like that inoculates you against shit like this but doesn't immunize you to it, especially if you're surrounded by people who browbeat you and use every kind of IRL social pressure to get you to conform. I'm not saying this is what happened to Dev; I don't have a window into his world beyond the one we're presented with. But I've certainly seen this shit before with Canadian friends of mine and am quite familiar with that phenomenon on a much smaller scale.
I can tell you why he won't make that video: It's that there's no way in hell for him to create a vid on it and do his usual talks-out-of-both-sides-of-his-mouth claptrap wherein he tries to pretend that both the left and right are equivalent and is able to frame it as TRUCKERS BAD, when the government quite literally went full authoritarian by WEF mandate in a matter of days in response to the protests, and subsequently went scorched earth trying to make examples of anyone who so much as provided financial support to them and had the temerity to do so while living in Canada. There is no way to win on this issue for Dev, so ironically punting it and pretending he never said he was making it is his wisest move.
