HE IS A COMMUNIST, ACE! Don't start with this "Communist Fascists!!!111" boomer mindset. Fascism arose as an answer to the wave of Communism in Europe, and the fall of Monarchies.
Fascism arose as an answer to the inefficiencies Communism bred - Gentile and Mussolini, the co-authors of Doctrine of Fascism, were socialists during WWI and saw that it, frankly, didn't work. Communism's end goal is to achieve a stateless, classless society, a goal that had been constantly hampered since the Leninist movements where the socialist petite bourgeois usurp the State to achieve their goals and then some nambly-pambly magic was supposed to happen and the State dissolved into the ether and leaving behind a Communist utopia. Fascist thought is a little more utilitarian and cuts out the nambly-pambly part and everything after that and is honest in its intent that everything is done in furtherance of the State.
Either way, I don't think either label is wholly accurate to what Dev actually is politically (aside from Stupid) and arguing over the terms isn't a productive conversation either. It's probably better to list out what the key components of his belief system are, because he honestly sounds like the kind of person who would unironically like oligarchy.
We know he's a
statist, because he has a strong preference for official narratives and statements over countermanding evidence (as long as it doesn't come from a Trumpian-style government). We know he's a strong proponent of
institutionalism as well, because he believes that the bureaucratic process of the State will usually course-correct and produce the correct results. But above all else, he's an
elitist - he has a strong distaste for populist movements and populist institutions and instead prefers to defer to long-standing, entrenched institutions with strong pedigrees, because he somehow believes that the government is incapable of hiring stupid people.
