Regarding the trail cams:
Trail cams don't wirelessly transmit, so in order to review the footage that camera must be unmounted from the tree. Most likely the cameras have yet to be put back in place.

Except there's a bit in the show where Dexter is looking up at one of the cameras that is attached to a tree at the crime scene.

I've been enjoying it, although some of the Wokeness is annoying, it's a small town but perfectly diverse, the original series had a diverse supporting cast too, but that was set in Miami.

And so many sinister or asshole white men, but it's overall fairly mild Woke wise.

It's great to have the show back and have it be good again.

I think I didn't enjoy Episode 3 more due to how sloppy Dexter seemed to be. There are so many points where you have to fill in blanks, give him the benefit of the doubt or seriously suspend your belief in comparison to the original series.

I know part of the plot is he's rusty, but I find myself while watching asking questions about how X isn't happening or how Y was too simple. Lots of the intricate routine work Dexter used to do is kind of glossed over and handwaved here IMO. With that said I'm looking forward to the next episode. I remember at the end of Episode 1 I was concerned they wouldn't explain Harrison finding Dexter and his backstory properly, but they did it masterfully.

I'm only just watching tonight's episode, not even 20 minutes in, but I have to say that I thought there was a moment of brilliant subtle acting from Michael C Hall. when his son obviously murdered the other dude because he was angry and then blamed it on him being a school shooter, EVERYTHING about Dexter's behavior screams 'Yeah that little shit is lying this is exactly the same kind of thing I would do'

I've been really enjoying it, this is the best the show has been since season 4, so 12 years, which is crazy to think about.

So it looks like
Dexter takes out the sniper killer next episode. Considering that there are 5 more episodes, I'm guessing that the sniper has an accomplice. I think that the rich guy is a red herring and that the owner of the gun store is somehow involved.

Did Dexter ever off a significant serial killer before the end of the season finale or penultimate episode? I don't remember at this point.

This show is blowing me away with how great it is, it might actually be better than the original TV series ever was.

I mean I guess that's debatable, but I seriously can't believe how great it is, I didn't think modern American media could even be this good.

This latest episode absolutely had me on the edge of my seat, I can't wait to see where this is going.

If there's one flaw though it's Harrison's age, I got to thinking about it and it doesn't make any sense, he looks to be about 17, we see at the start Dexter writing on a calendar that it's Dec 2021, he says "it's been almost ten years" since he last killed implying the final season took place when it aired, 2013.

Harrison was introduced as a toddler in 2009, implying there was a timeskip between season 3 in 2008 and season 4 in 2009, this is where the issue lies, if Harrison was born in 2009 or 2008, he'd only be 12 or 13, if the later seasons took place later, it wouldn't be "almost ten years" circa 2021 and if the earlier seasons took place earlier than they aired, maybe that might work, but Harrison would have to be born around 2004, so the first 3 seasons would have to happened prior to then, which is a little odd considering they would have clearly been filmed around 2005-2007.

You could maybe say the first season was 2004, since I think that's when the first book was published, except Harrison wouldn't have been born until years later.

Maybe the actor looks older and the character is only supposed to be 15 or 16, still kind of a stretch, it just doesn't make much sense, maybe I'm overthinking but that is one thing that's bugging me, not sure why they felt like they had to clarify New Blood takes in 2021 instead of keeping it vague so it could be a few years from now.

It's been pretty good so far, dumping the "kill of the week" format was a good choice. Started a bit slow but it's been picking up the pace for the last few.

Could've really used a tighter script, tons of sloppy writing and too many coincidences. For example, Kurt's motive for killing and for the way he kills seems forced. He also seemed awfully young "25 years ago" in the flashback. Angela figuring out Dexter's real identity was obviously too easy, they should've built up to that over several episodes. They're little things, but enough to separate good from great.

Still, it's better than majority of the original show so far, certainly top 3 if you rank by seasons.

Low-key, it's as if they're character assassinating Dexter. I never remember him being this creepy in the original. You can justify his sloppiness, but with this 8+ year timeskip... And he just keeps on lying to the point that it baffles me what he's thinking. He's killed over 100 people but is this sloppy after all these years?

The flashback was definitely cheesy, the actor looks nothing like how Clancy Brown looked in the 90s.

Only 1 episode to go.

Kurt is dead, I really enjoyed Clancy Brown's performance, best villain they've had since John Lithgow, he was kind of like a dark reflection of Dexter in that he was a serial killer with a charming and charismatic public persona, you wish it wasn't just a façade and that Kurt was actually the nice guy he presented himself to be.

It feels weird for them to only have Dexter finally tell Harrison the truth in the next to last episode, I'm going to bet this is not the end of this series and we'll get another limited series someday, I bet the end will simply be Dexter and Harrison driving out of town off to new adventures.

I'm conflicted on that, I want more but only if it's this good and I feel like maybe after 15 years it's time to end it on a high note and who knows, maybe it will turn out to be an ending after all, we'll just have to wait and see.

But I feel like the show is only so good because they must've spent years writing the scripts instead of the usual TV schedule, so if it does come back again it probably won't be for years and well, Michael C Hall ain't getting any younger, I hope if it's an open ending it doesn't leave us hanging too bad.

It's been fucking phenomenally great so far, but will it stick the landing? It's really painful having to wait another week, I wanted to just go ahead and watch the finale.

Holy fucking shit this season has been fantastic.

That last episode was the best so far. I can't fucking wait for next week.

Whatever expectations I had of this season (almost none) were blown the fuck away. And seeing harrison realizing what kind of monster Dexter is at the end, gradually shifting away from him, while Dexter is opening up more and more, it was just fucking great.
