Giving fans what they want: a cinematic where Neyrelle suffers deeply for the crime of existing

I consider Loot Reborn a success, I specced hard into Companion Druid and have 3 (were)wolf pets that can solo Duriel.

OMG PET THE HECKIN DOGGO

Petting the dog, especially if it gives you an achievement, has become a warning sign for me as much as Niggers and ugly Women.

I've played the Diablo series since the 90s, played a bit of D3 but found it really tedious and shallow with total garbage writing. So far I've resisted D4 because Blizzard has become an evil empire.

Is D4 worth playing?

Does it feel more like 2 or 3?
Feels more like 3 to me but it relies more on world events then rifts. It also has a reputation grind in it, but I only went far enough to get the main seasonal done the rep was boring to grind for the last 2 levels of it.

It also has a battle pass which allows you to increase rep/exp etc.

Blizzard seems to have broken their license server on the season update and are performing "emergency maintenance."

To answer a question from a months ago:
Does it feel more like 2 or 3?

Neither, really. It fundamentally breaks the Diablo formula.
  • World scaling means you can't rush to a higher difficulty area for a challenge, or farm an item to get you an advantage for the next few levels, or grind a bit to tackle a tough area.
  • It is really, really easy so it's not like it matters what items you have until the endgame. You can faceroll basically everything prior to the endgame bosses except a couple bosses and world events regardless of what gear you have.
  • Your build does not really matter, and you can respec at any time. You can play through pretty much the entire story using only a Basic & Core skill and just choose random passives.
  • There are no longer meaningful difficulty levels. Instead of difficulty levels, you have tiers where the monsters stop scaling. So Veteran is levels 1-50 meaning once you hit level 51, the world stops scaling and everything becomes piss easy. Nightmare is 51-70. Torment is 71-100. You can access a tier early, but as soon as you hit its floor level, it becomes easy again.
  • Your gear does not really matter. Just wear whatever has the highest number on. Tempering, adding sockets, and changing aspects is a waste of time because all enemies die instantly. Nightmare bosses in Nightmare Dungeons often go down in 3-5 seconds with a basic bitch build and random loot.
  • There aren't any unique sets to collect, and if there were, it would be a waste of time to collect them because of how easy the game is.
  • There aren't even cosmetically interesting uniques to find, because they have that "morph" system every game has now so they can sell cosmetics via the Battle Pass.
There is nothing particularly good about this game. It's just stuck in perpetual Journalist Mode and is terrified of taking any risk at all that someone might pay money for it and be unable to complete all the content because they suck at video games. I hate-play this game now and then because it has good graphics, and I like pretty things.

New class looks fucking retarded, no one wanted a jungle nigger, they wanted a crusader or paladin.
Witch Doctor was the red-headed stepchild of D3 (The only D3 class I put over 500 hours into). That class went from trash to viable and back to unplayable trash thanks to Wyatt Cheng. Blizzard hated that class despite the BLM virtue signaling, and even the Chinese didn't want that class in Diablo Immortal. Even if WD returned in the expansion, I still wouldn't touch Diablo 4.

Stoked to see what they do with Mephisto. New class looks meh as they are all kind of 'meh' with different flavors of theme. Diablo 3 was the same way.

But I only play these games for the general commitment to the cutscenes.

How depressing. I played Diablo until D2 came out, then played D2 at least a few months a year from 2000 to D3's release, then maxed out every character in D3. Sad that there's now a Diablo game I just can't get interested in. The gaming industry is dead.

I'd honestly play D4 if I had it on steam. I'm so tired of launchers and being tempted by WoW, so simply having it on Steam might entice me. I love the eastern look of the armor and environments, not being another MURRICA or SUGOI DESU weeb shit. I looked into what I actually got of "Legacy" type shit in D4 and there's just nothing. Diablo 3 had all those launch events with class quizzes that rewarded banners; a fuckton of tie-in pets, a whole mess of odd additions. A fucking iZombie pet? The Diablo 2 event etc.

Probably wouldn't lose out on much just having D4 on Steam but if future Blizz games aren't going on steam, it feels dumb to get invested in it.

Not playing a game because it brings up a different launcher when you click its launch icon seems like a silly reason not to play it, but to each its own. Not playing it because it's boring and stupid is a much better reason.

I should also add that you level up really, really fast. It's not until after level 70 or so that the drop rate of level-appropriate items slows down, and you'll actually use the same piece of gear for more than about 15 minutes.

So I'm definitely hooked again. Numbers go up, autism engaged, brain happy. Neyrelle is nowhere near as interesting as they think, but the design of the new Burned Knight villain is neat - they're really trying to pin all the Church of Light's nasty stuff on him specifically though, so the Stronk Black Woman is no longer culpable for mass genocide and persecution...

Haven't had much time to look at the new systems, but they're intriguing. Was also a bit alarming to see that my maxed out Sorcerer went from 24k HP to 250 after the level squish, but there's eight difficulties now and all that end game gear is only iLevel 540 with the new numbers.

Eager to get stuck in properly after work. Can still be a pale redhead with the Spirit born, so that's a plus.

I'm trying to look for Diablo 2 content on youtube, but all I am getting is that retarded demake in the results. I have to look for several pages before I get any sort of reviews or retrospectives on the original instead of this slop.
They did the same thing with Warcraft 3 as well. Little wonder why Blizzard is such a joke now. For how much of a big deal Diablo 4 was supposed to be, I haven't heard anyone talk about it for months. What a joke!

Every Diablo II wiki was turned into a 'remaster' wiki. With the older builds removed and rebalanced numbers replacing the old ones. Instead of making a new separate wiki for the new version of the game with its balance changes they instead just vandalized the popular existing wikis to turn each article into a 'new version of Diablo II' advertisement.

Warcraft III not Warhammer. When "Reforged" was announced everyone knew the new art style and graphics were terrible. But the biggest social media and fan accounts shilled the game like crazy until it finally came out and the downgrade was undeniable. These communities are overrun with corporate tools and worshipers who don't care about the actual legacy of the original games. Unless you are one of the approved social media channels working with Blizzard you will never have a voice within the community.

Absolutely fucking disgusting. I hope there is actual fan run communities and guides for 2000 edition players. Actually, is there a guide on how to get the game running nowdays? I actually have a 4CD case that comes with Diablo 2 and it's expansion set but I never had the time to try it out. I heard you actually need to connect to battle net to get it working, so that might be an issue for obvious reasons
Warcraft III not Warhammer
I'm a fucking retard, how could I confuse the two?
I've actually seen a lot more pushback from Warcraft 3 demake rather than the Diablo 2 demake, which was either mocked or had it's ball washed and little inbetween. I wonder why that would be, from what I remember both were equally beloved in their day.

The new season of Diablo 4 fixes one of the biggest problems with the game, the lack of difficulty levels. Now there are actual difficulty tiers to select from. The game is now difficult enough enough that I can't just mindlessly faceroll it and have to put a modicum of effort into playing.

I should see if you can still download the original Diablo II. I honestly didn't enjoy it all that much, though.

I don't think the D2 remake looks that bad. What did they change gameplay and balance wise to make it worse? You can even change the graphics mid game unlike the Warcraft 3 remake
