Blizzard is a woke company but D4 is way better than D3, and come on, half the cast were ethnic in that game lol.
 
I got momentarily excited when I heard they added set items to the game and it's just some shitty charms that don't really offer anything meaningful, then I checked out how barb is doing and the whirlwind build is the same items, the same aspects, the same paragon tree and the revamped skill tree they hyped up so much are so fucking lame and uninspired

and then there's the names of like 70% of the abilities, why not rename D4 to Demon Slaying & Tab Management Simulator

I mean the set bonuses are just like D2's, but they are entirely separate from actual gear, because they are either the best gear or worthless gear (in D2, worthless) so now they are useful because they don't conflict with actual armor.

D2 sets weren't worthless, angelic ring + amulet combo is basically BiS for melee fighters, IK is an amazing budget option for barb (but then again >barb lol) and its glove+belt+boot combo is fantastic for all melee fighters, Tal set for the sorc is in the same ballpark and its individual pieces often rank very highly just below BiS options (belt before you get arach, helm for mercs before you get andy or guillame, armor is just very good, especially with the excellent amulet)
trang gloves are the only gloves outside magefist that have FCR and a resistance roll on it, so they're better for non-fire spellcaster builds
sander, magnus and laying on hands (all gloves) are all varying degrees of great with LoH being near BiS as far as gloves go
aldur's boots are valued for their gigantic 40% FRW

yes I know but the vast majority are garbage and outmoded by runewords.

this avoids that pitfall, also they have both the set bonus (fixed) and actual rolls on them, so they are fun to try and get the best possible one, and you can reroll them with the Cube, which is honestly such a great addition to the game.

I'm amazed with as casual as D4 is (its certainly LESS casual now in terms of options) they'd just drop the Cube and everything it can do on the player without any real easing in.

The cube is effectively the season mechanic, so everyone has ~2 months to fuck around with it before a 'real' season starts.

They got me with the fucking wow skins, playing Paladin better be badass.

LoH is slightly less woke because we don't have DISABLED RETARD companion with one arm, full on furry fantasy fulfillment galore (spiritborn. Fuck that class), literal lesbo self insertion through Neyrell.

killing her off within 5 minutes into the game made the LoH made worth purchasing.

I never cared or was put off by her, I didn't "like" her either.

She fucks up and it costs her, Nahantu, and likely unforeseen consequences to come, and the game tells you directly, Mephisto essentially set up everything so she'd make that decision as she did and he taunts her with it.
Then she runs off on her own which causes more problems, and then she researchs how to fix her problems alone and this causes her death.

How is this girlboss? they'd have her win a fight, or be "correct" or explain how much better her way is, but Neyrell is depicted as a well meaning, but foolish girl way over her head trying to figure out how to win a war fought for millions of years and paying every price, including death in the process.

Seems like a pretty realistic outcome for involving yourself in cosmic battles beyond mortal comprehension when you aren't Nephelem-tier.

Actually I just hate her. Its clear some fat chick in the development team wanted her in there. She wasn't a necessary character. Lorath could have done everything she did and the story wouldve been more cohesive.

Whenever Neyrelle's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking 'Where's Neyrelle?'

Good. Have every location that isn't Skovos explode like Arreat taking every character that isn't Tyrael with it and let's all move over to the Western Kingdoms while they remake the East as good as they made Skovos.
 
I finally grasp what they tried to do with Neyrell... She's an analog to Marius from D2, both follow a dark wanderer (one is us) both end up with prime evil in a soulstone and travel to Travincal, hell they both end up at the Durance of Hate in the same room, and they both end the same, in a small room in Khejistsan (Neyrell has 'bars' of cloth instead of steel) alone with a Prime Evil, abandoned by their allies and killed.

I guess the point is to show the effects of the Primes ilon regular people, being brave or a coward has no real distinction here, Neyrell's research saves the day, but death came to both.
 
I’m enjoying it. The expansion story was pretty good but I think the mommy Lilith dick sucking is going a bit far.

End game looks a lot better. Materials are easier to come buy so there’s an incentive to try different gears. It’s cool.

Even as a D3 enjoyer, gotta agree D4 is better.


That said been consodering getting D4 and coming from D3, what is the general consensus now that they are 2 dlc's deep? Is worth getting for cheap?
