This is something I have been thinking about for the past few days.

Barb was absolutely horrible to Chris as a kid, and as an adult, she never worked to cultivate boundaries with him. Chris has a disability that inhibits his social growth and ability to understand other people's boundaries, and her solution was to just put him in a clown shirt to warn people he was a sped.

She encouraged Chris to be close with her and she didn't stop him when he began using names other than mom and dad for his parents. She would demand that he spend time with her, even tearing up his room if he left the house or refused to cuddle with her in her bed.

Rape is a horrible thing, and under normal circumstances, it is something no woman should experience. But these aren't normal circumstances.

Did Barb deserve to be raped? I have to be honest, I think she did.
 
Deserving or not, she without a doubt was the image of the perfect boyfriend free girl for Chris, someone who will spoil and coddle him. And knowing how manipulative she was to keep him from going anywhere. It just looks like all that manipulation and bad parenting is now being put on full display.
 
Did Barb deserve to be raped? No. In the sense that being raped is not considered a humane or proportional punishment for being a bad parent. Did she directly contribute to the series of events that lead to her rape? Yes, absolutely. She fostered a relationship that completely lacks boundaries with her mentally ill child. However, true bad guys here are within the state infrastructure of Virginia , and I think a lot of people don't even have that in their sights. When Bob went to the hospital that last time he had to be quarantined because he was infested with some sort of insect. There was a clear lack of care there.

When Bob died both Barb and Chris needed to become wards of the state at that point. Chris was never in any way equipped with the tools to care for an elderly woman. And we've seen him crumble under the weight of it. I don't think he faked his delusions. I think his delusions were a cry for help from someone who is so lacking in understanding of themselves, their own abilities, and the reality of the situation that it was the only way they could cry out for help. I don't mean to defend Chris, or maybe I do, I don't fucking know. Because honestly while what he did is absolutely revolting and reprehensible, on the other hand he never EVER should have been in the position he was in. It's not even questionable if he can care for himself, we fucking know he can't. Why did the state not intervene? It's beyond comprehension. Especially considering how well documented the state of the house is! And Bob being infested with bugs was surely documented by the hospital! I'm sorry, it's just really gross and sad to me. The whole thing.

what the shit kind of question is this? No of course not. She's the shittiest kind of person, but come on, she doesn't deserve something like this in any way, especially now that she can't even defend herself.

Right. And i think she set the stage and put in motion the process for this to happen. She was selfish and took any opportunity for chris to socialize away from him and it was clear he sought a romantic relationship with a woman. she not only should have seen these chickens coming home to roost, caused it to happen.
 
Being a bad, overbearing, boundary-lacking parent does not mean you deserve to be raped. She deserved something, but not rape by her own son.

I feel for her a bit, best case outcome is she really is too senile and demented to know what was happening. Worst case, she was present while getting raped by tranny son whom she (albeit badly) raised.

This would be true if not for her being as dumb as a door knob, I really can't assign any fault to her. Was she his mother, yes but raising a autism child isn't easy for a good parent let alone her. I don't think anyone should want that for her, she acted out of stupidity not malice.
