Did embeds get changed?

Several people told me to stop posting full-size pictures in posts. I kept doing it but as a courtesy to people that care about precious limited screen real estate, I downsized them so they would be readable without being unnecessarily huge. I hate thumbnails because half the time I can't read them and sometimes it takes 5-30 seconds to load them when I click on it. That's the real reason I embedded full images. The thumbnail experience is so much worse.

But now I noticed I can't embed images anymore. I can only post thumbnails. Was this a site-wide change or did my account get restricted?

You can still post fullsize images, it's just that the default was changed to thumbnails.

much better to make it take 5-30 seconds to load for everyone when they open the page regardless of if they want to see it or not.

use thumbnails. i don't care what you prefer. if people keep deliberately breaking thumbnails I will simply disable the option.
