Did Toy Story 4 suck shit?

Toy Story rankings are as follows:

TY 2 > TY 1 > TY 3 > TY 4

And yes, I thought the same thing about The Incredibles 2. The emphasis on wanting “strong female characters” started to get warped when Mrs. Parr had to deal with a villain that (almost) looked like her.
Concerning Incredibles 2 it's a really bad sign that I don't even remember what the motive was for the antagonist, especially since Syndrome in Incredibles was such a good villian. She wanted to get heroes banned again right? But why?
Wikipedia: Evelyn explains her grudge against superheroes since Gazerbeam and Fironic failed to prevent her father's murder and her mother's subsequent death due to heartache.
That's a bad excuse for villainy imo. Do you hate all EMT's if two fail to save your parents?

The main antagonist's grudge against superheroes is even more retarded, because her father stupidly decided that instead of hiding in the family's safe room when burglars break into their home (Something his wife pleads with him to hide there) the moron decides to call superheroes to come save him and his family from these burglars on a special phone that he owns.

Rather than having it in the safe room, it was somewhere else and when he goes to use it the burglars spot him before he's shot dead. To make matters worse, he tried calling the heroes when Supers get banned thanks to Mr. Incredible's incident with that suicidal man and other lawsuits.

Never even saw 4. Do they find another contrived reason to bring back Buzz's original deluded personality?

There's a massive continuity error with toy story 4 that I know has been brought up before and I can never really shake. Bo peep in the first 2 toy story films was very clearly a ceramic figurine, but in toy story 4 she's like an offbrand barbie doll. How such an oversight even fucking happened probably has something to do with whatever corporate shit resulted in Toy story 4 Essentially being a glorified promo for that Disney+ exclusive toy story show they were talking about making as a sequel to it around the time of it's release. Did they ever even come out with that show? If it's not still in the works this movie is even more of an unnecessary waste than it already was.

4 was disappointing but at least visually nice to look at and I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling uncomfortable with the voice box scene.

That being said I'm probably in the minority of where I would've preferred toy story 2 being the only sequel. It did everything a sequel should and then some. 3 is not a bad movie especially comparing it to 4 but 2 had already answered any questions we needed and I always like 2's more ambiguous ending about what will happen when Andy's all grown up.

Buzz: You still worried?

Woody: About Andy? Nahhh, it'll be fun while it lasts

Buzz: I'm proud of you cowboy.

Woody: Besides, when it all ends, I'll have old buzz lightyear to keep me company. For infinity and beyond.

I could be wrong but she still seemed like she was ceramic to me, considering her arm had snapped off.

It did indeed look great, you can't take that away from it.

There was a D+ short that shows what happened between the opening scene and middle of the movie that showed how her arm got busted, and that the lamp she and the sheep were a part of got tossed out. Not that it makes it any less jarring, but it explains the tape around the arm at least.

t. Guy who left his friends over a second existential crisis, his ceramic doll wife, and interpreting a little girl getting bored of playing with him to being the equivalent of being thrown out onto the streets by your ex.

I wouldn't say it sucked, I would say it was mediocre just like everything Hollywood puts out these days. A committee approved movie meant to appeal to everyone sell merchandise and cash in on the feelings of easily dissuaded sheep. In other words, just another Illumination movie to add to the pile.

Ok then how did her outfit completely change when in the original films several parts of her clothing were literally part of her body and not like softgoods or anything? That'd be like if woody just was inexplicably in Sean Connery's ZARDOZ outfit after getting his arm repaired.
Shit, I actually kinda wanna see what that'd look like now!

"The snake is good, the boot is evil!"

I guess you're right about Bo Peep and this is more proof that Toy Story 4 is some weird alternate universe and not a "canon" entry.

On the other hand, the "weak spot" in the pre-2010 Pixar history, Cars, actually felt like it had the deeper feeling of the original movies, with the Route 66/desert themed setting and the difficulty of small town living despite being literally bypassed. I think part of the problem was its noticeably more kid-oriented characters and the merchandising that followed.

I really like cars (and feel it gets better with more watches), and I think it gets a lot of unwarranted shit, in part due to how the sequel was basically just "mater's tall tales: the movie" - which is ok in small doses but easily overstays it's welcome as a feature length movie.
outside the anthropomorphic cars to sell toys it's a classic hollywood story about growing up and learning there's more to life, so the message is pretty boomer-ish and probably lost on the kids it was aimed at. can't sell "there's nothing wrong with slowing down once in a while and enjoying old things" to proto-fortnite zoomers.

The first Cars is really similar to that one Micheal J Fox movie, isn’t it? At least the “big shot stuck in small town because of small town court” part.
