The brazil ban was kinda interesting and I noticed that there are almost no news articles that give a good order of events. I was a bit confused myself at first.

As a result I just want do a quick poll to see if other people know the sequence of events.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the sequence of events was:

1. Judge gives X 2 hours to comply and censor 8 accounts silently (one of them a brazilian senator).
2. X's brazilian representative lawyer refused and asked for a legal basis for the order
3. Brazilian judge changed the order to 24 hours, or X's lawyer would be jailed.
4. X pulled their lawyer from Brazil
5. Judge gave X 24 hours to assign a new brazilian representative or X would be blocked from brazil
6. X was blocked from brazil and media mostly ran cover

Also, yes, poll option 3 is a trap to see who only got half the story.

One step missing, where the judge froze the original lawyer's personal accounts, and then asked Twitter to name another, making it clear what was going to happen to anyone associated with the company there.

But of course the lying Regime media will run with some tepid "Twitter wasn't following local laws" and fault them for not doing the heckin' super secret "content moderation".

They are threatening the lawyer? What?

Would they do the same, even if the lawyer was an independent contractor?

What a fucking circus. They might as well threaten to kill puppies, if their demands are not complied with.

The thread may as well be asking why a despotic government would want to consolidate and control the flow of information citizens have access to, along with a big

Brazil doesn't have the social engineering industry or resources that the US does. Elon playing ball by US rules is insufficient reach for smaller governments having to be more overt about reminding citizens that they're state property.

Well sure, I was mostly curious if this was on other people's radar.

Fuck that judge, I think he should be [FEDPOSTING]
Dude just unilaterally decides what is or isn't a crime, fines and jails people with no legal basis, makes demands he has no authority to and he has a bunch of cocksuckers willing to defend him because they love the idea of being petty tyrants themselves.

Nah, the OP has hit on something big that is very under discussed. I have noticed in many cases especially where the media does not like the subject of the story its curiously impossible to find a comprehensive timeline of factual events and key details are missing that make it impossible to tell what exactly happened or who really is being unreasonable. Unlike many people *cough* redditors. I try to get a basic grounding of the facts before I comment on something .

For example in the trump 'hush money' trial I noticed nobody arguing really had solid idea about what and why exactly in a legal sense trump was being charged as opposed to all the other payoffs that happen that nobody has a problem with and none of the people writing the articles seemed to know either. It took me a half and hour or so to find primary documents. So you can imagine how uninformed everybody else was.

Is this what you needed me to know when you quoted my post? The rest of your post states the obvious, preaches to the choir, etc. I don't see why you're even bumping the thread to reiterate what other posters managed to summarize just by describing the story as it developed a month ago. Are you late to the party?

The first part of your post sounded like you were dismissing the op's point on missing information so thats why I quoted it. Nothing personal.

In terms of bumping someone else did it which is why I noticed the post in the first place.

The OP and I were in agreement, and I am in agreement with your post. It's just three weeks late. To say it another way:

This is actually a good point, a detailed timeline of events like this would serve to outline and archive the specific events in this fuck fuck circus of corruption and lawfare, the lugenpresse can't be trusted to not twist the context and information for the manufacture of consensus. Please BRs give us the full story with all steps

Heavily disagree here, the judge is a tyrant and kept making illegal orders, I thought it was great someone provided resistance.

What was Musk's justification for caving in to Brazil's demands?
