Yeah I will NOT re-enable the YT app on my TV. If they manage to break SmartTube and Newpipe, I'll just go back to using a computer with ad blocking to watch shit on my TV. If they then manage to break that (by embedding ads directly into the videos), then I'll stop watching YT altogether. Fuck them and TAD (total advertiser death).

I stopped watching football during the COVID bullshit and that was the very last place the corporate parasites could get me. My life has been effectively devoid of advertising for years now and I'll be goddamned if I'm going back.

THE GOVERNMENT IS WATCHING US THROUGH ADS ON YOUTUBE FOR TVS.

AND I CAN'T GET THE COVID OUT OF MY TEETH

NewPipe/BraveNewPipe have been pretty flaky for me for the last couple of days. As of last night they just stopped working entirely.

Different sources seem to work up to a roughly the one minute mark and others don't work at all. I tried to see just how bad it was through the browser and there were mere minutes between several commercial breaks.

At this point I'll just stop using YouTube for background noise.

Chromium + ublock origin on pc, Firefox + ublock origin on android, haven't noticed anything.

If they fuck up chromium I'll switch browsers, if they fuck up trannyfox and brave I'll just wait. There is nothing on this castrated platform that will make me watch ads, short of, like, an emergency car repair tutorial.

UFC is the only time I experience advertisements in any capacity and it serves as a reminder of what life could be like.

I said it in another thread but I have entirely cut out all social media, content curation/aggregation, video games and porn, I use no streaming services, trust no "journalism" nor kikepedia nor a single Google product including their search engine. I am genuinely closer to building a Kaczynski cabin than acquiescing to globohomo, and it sounds better every day.

That’s what amuses me the most about this. Google is bloated with DEI hires that can’t code. But their opponent in this war are legions of autistic nerds. They cannot win through tech. They might as well get more lawyers and buy more politicians
Yeah that's what has me worried is some C-Suite fatass finally realizing they need to pay white men with >75 IQ and shelling out for something that REALLY fucks up adblockers.

Reporting back, I just used stacher to download youtube videos. apparently, when downloading videos in MP4, there is no audio, tested it out on other format like FLV or M4A and in turn there's no video but just audio. YouTube even fucking up my downloaders smh, forced to use the BestVideo [EXT = MP4] + BestAudio [ EXT = M4A] format.
Anyone else have this problem when using stacher?

Chromium + ublock on desktop is my go-to nowadays, videos loads faster compared to brave and firefox somehow.

Google is going to have a harder time killing Firefox-based adblockers as Firefox is not hampered by Manifest V3 unlike all Chrome-based browsers. While I normally use Tubular, a fork of NewPipe that combines Sponsorblock and ReturnDislike, I am using Invidious while I wait for the fix for Tubular that undoes Google's fuckery.

If Invidious goes down, I can watch vanilla YouTube with Adnauseum. It is a fork of Ublock Origin for Firefox that will both block and simulate "clicks" on ads that it collects to basically defraud advertisers like Google. When it was rolled out for Chrome, it angered Google so much that it had a massive spergout and removed it from the Play store so you know it did something right if it made Google lose its shit.

I know that Brave browser has its fans, but I would avoid any Chrome-based browser at this point because of what Google probably has planned coming down the pipe.
