lol "youtube"......... Wait until their efforts turn more serious again against websites and browsers. (You know, those things that techbro retards and normies gave them almost complete control of... and before anyone says something like "but but... open source version a/o firefox!!!!? don't because where google commands, all the others will go.. with the same tech retards screeching about how much sense each power grab and restriction is... and hell, moz gets most of their money from google)

Also extra lolz picturing the reaction when people are forced to eventually go out and get a new screen and realize that ALL MODERN TVs are online capable/mandatory smart TVs and that makers are starting to work out ways to push adds through even 3rd party content sources. (i.e. HDMI ported content.. see cable boxes, game consoles, BR/DVD players etc)

I'm unsure if it's related, but the timeframe matches up pretty well. I use "Custometube" so that I can browse Youtube with a layout that doesn't suck, a few days ago it started refusing to work properly. I use the pre-2012 layout, now recommendations are being forced below the video, video timelines are broken, fullscreen just scrolls halfway down the page, comments are on the side, description boxes are fucked (as well as titles), and nothing I've tried tweaking has fixed it. I still don't see ads because I use Brave, but I am once again getting sick and tired of shit for brains pajeets in high places ruining my user experience. I often wonder what would need to happen to drive a mass exodus from Youtube, and towards either alternate sites or self hosting.

If yt-dlp gets permanently broken I will cease watching youtube. I will torrent copyrighted media. I will play more ROMs on an emulator. I will listen to non DRM encumbered podcasts. I will listen to more audiobooks and read more books.

I will not watch youtube with a web browser on my TV. I will not watch ads. Browsing the web without an adblocker makes the internet practically unusable. Google can go F themselves.

Super bowl commercials are enjoyed because they're breaking up actual stretches where nothing interesting is happening in the game. In fact, from what I understand, the game itself will stop for commercial breaks. Just because they're high quality doesn't change how they're not what you actually want to see. Same goes for old TV commercials. Nostalgia or idle curiosity drives the views on those. People either didn't like them when they aired or only saw them as a charming novelty when TV was still a new thing and commercials didn't dominate their view time.
I think the quality of the ads is incidental to the reality that Americans have normalized them as part of a national identity, which is undeniable when you have serious people talking about 30-second Superbowl adverts as 'cultural moments' because they have famous faces in them. In that sense, people do want to see them because they're part of 'current' events in their own right, but that's been adopted into the Superbowl's attraction.

The success of things like infomericals, where you can take up to an hour away of people's lives to sell them some tape-rigged unicycle/dildo/buzzsaw contraption are only possible if people watch these and buy the products. I think you're just seeing companies getting sick of having to pretend that they can't get people to convince themselves of anything with the right acclimatization.

I've been using AdNauseam for around 5 years at this point. I can't imagine not using it. Love seeing how much money google wasted on me teehee :3

Bought one for my parents because I couldn't find a TV that was of an acceptable size and wasn't """smart""".
Luckily, all that """smart""" trash relies on having an Internet connection - and they can still be used in dumb mode without ever connecting to the Internet. Never connect to the Internet - here you go, problem solved, they can't pozload your negholep!

These “right to repair” faggots are like evangelical Christians with how fanatic and preachy they are.

And the worst part is: They act like Apple/Samsung/whatever somehow owe them anything.

You want to be able to repair something?
You should be kept in a cage and poked with sticks by feral children like a zoo animal for being such pathetic docile niggercattle.

Interesting: live stream videos work on Newpipe android, while regular videos do not. No PRs have been made to newpipe addressing this issue, and only 10 comments on the issue.

Any idea why GrayJay is working while newpipe is not? I saw this comment in an issue for ytdl (which looks to have been fixed) about a change made in a YT js snippet:
Thanks for the report. YT have now discovered that JS a.split("") can be expressed as String.prototype.split.call(a, ""), and that there is also an Array class.

Do any NewPipe refugees use ReVanced now? I have been using NewPipe for years because I like that I can have subscriptions and favorites and shit without a youtube account. Now I've built up a library of all my favorite channels but I can't watch any of them. I don't really use Youtube on my desktop, I use NewPipe to listen to music or to video essay slop while I drive or do boring shit IRL. NewPipe has the option to export your subscriptions, watch history, saved playlists, etc into a database and I have in the past imported that list into BraveNewPipe.

Does anyone know a way to import all that shit into YouTube Vanced? My actual youtube account is so neglected it would take ages to resubscribe to all my NewPipe shit and I think the Youtube app is a piece of shit anyway. NewPipe has the sweet " What's New?" feature that just shows me a chronological list of uploads. I don't want algorithmic suggestions. I want to know what my subscribed channels uploaded and that's fuckin it.

For now I can still use BraveNewPipe to get my updated list of most recent uploads by my favorite channels and just paste the URL into the Youtube ReVanced app but it's a bit less efficient than I like.

Finding creative ways to call people slurs in yourube comments
I fucking hate it when I finish a comment and send it out - only to reopen the comment section in incognito mode and see that the comment is gone. Often even without any naughty words whatsoever. And you just have to sit there and imagine why on Earth does it not show up this time, because the YT is certainly not going to tell you!
This shit does nothing to stop the spammers fagging up the comment sections with their link to the latest crypto scam, but we the people now have to walk on eggshels, with comment visibility now being a game of chance.

Can someone give me a link explaining in minute retard detail how to set up Tizentube on my Samsung TV? Appreciate it

I receive unwanted ads trough my door, I dispose of it.
I receive unwanted ads trough my browser, I dispose of it.
I should be allowed to do so as in both scenarios the ads have entered my domain
simple as.
>I recieve any more unwanted ads, I dispose of people responsible

Not the same app but Instagram has become absolutely pathetic in some regards for this. Seen comments get removed for spam that are just entirely normal conversations
