Disaster Prediction Thread - Discussing The Calamities To Come

What man-made or natural phenomena-related strife is to come in the future? State what you think will happen and provide an explanation of some kind for why you believe that it will occur. Keep predictions within a 1000-year time frame. All who post here are encouraged to keep an open mind and to be prepared to agree to disagree as trying to figure out what may happen in the years to come isn't an exact science.

Just to get things started:
1. The United States national debt forces the government to drastically cut spending (the U.S. debt is now reported to now exceed the country's GDP).
2. Mexico City continues sinking, causing a national emergency for Mexico at best and a massive refugee crisis at worse (it is one of the fastest sinking cities in the world).
