Discord PTSD - Discord horror stories. Doesn't have to be from you.

My brother is on this Chess Discord that is the second one they had to make because of this one hero named Meta. Meta apparently kept talking about, quote, ‘asexual bondage porn’, and I don’t know what that means either but ok. He then made a shitty boat and sailed across the sea to Japan to meet a girl he was talking to online. Pics and everything to confirm this is what he was doing. So with his stores stocked with granola and water, he set sail.
Some time passes with no contact from Meta, until one day he posts a pic with him and his Japanese IRL waifu. He fucking did it. Absolute LAD!
Now, I don’t know why they had to make a new server, but apperantly it was because Meta was a mod and they wanted to be free from his control.
But, it turns out this was all a Deagle Nation level troll op by Meta. He did have a boat, but staged the photos. He did have a waifu, but staged the photos. As far as I know, he never left America. Truly magnificent trolling. The best kind, the kind that leaves us with a fun story to tell.
This may sound like it’s my brother pulling my leg, and it very well could be just that, but I do know this server does exist because of another character. His name is Molecreature, and he is a mole furry fond of using an opening called the “Grom”. I have found recorded matches of his, so I know he is real, yet he is not famous or high ranked enough for anybody to know about him outside of this Discord group.
That is all for that saga, I wish I was there to see it unfold.

A few years ago I told someone I would never use discord because it's made by and for furries and other assorted degenerates. Every day I am proven right.

I Used to know this foreign guy on Wii U Video Chat (dont ask), one day he just out of context threatened to burn his wii u on video chat for no reason

There are plenty of stories of Discord servers that act like harems to the owner, where they act like anime girls or furries lapping up one guy's attention and approval. It is extremely predatory in the worst of cases when they sexually humiliate people and make them feel like they're their only friends and they must become degenerate to stay there.

But it's the video games that's the problem, amirite.

Well it was never confirmed he was one of Reiko's victims, just possible.
 
It still is somewhat of a shame to see the fragmented reality of Discord as somebody who uses the service sparingly and to see the parallels between the issues they pertain from other chatting services such as Skype for example, but somehow it's on such a scale that Skype can't even really be compared to it.

Over the past year of joining different types of servers, I've seen so many things that make me question even using the application to begin with, don't get me wrong though, I enjoy Discord and believe that it is genuinely the best platform to use for chatting with other like-minded people, but it's a fucking train-wreck on certain sides after witnessing personally and seeing other people give stories on somewhat troubling individuals of various ideologies freely roaming, posting loli, cub, pony shit, zoo or whatever else, raids, doxxing, edging users to suicide, or just fucking murdering someone for being a cocktease, possibly even doing more immoral acts that would justify lengthy sentences in Federal institutions somehow get away without any hope of punishment and even seeing how the upper echelons of the Trust and Safety team, which are supposed to be comprised of professional and yet neutral individuals who are supposed to put bias aside and handle issues with maturity purposely turn a blind eye to certain underage NSFW images/videos simply due to lax term of being labelled as "cub" while not taking a more abrasive action against people who are actually causing issues to the platform.

Something like the issues that arose in January with the controversy with Quackity is the first instance to my eyes being open on the underbelly of Discord and shit like that should not be taken lightly if they want to maintain the image of being a professional business, but then again they did bring this issue on themselves for allowing people retain their biases of the furry fandom instead of always being neutral, lose the uniformity of other business models and just give people memes if they are reaching for support, and finally allowing NSFW in a general term to be allowed on their platform, they attracted the worst kind of people and are having a hard time getting rid of all of them.

We live in a society.

I recently got banned from a discord server that focused on scouring the edges of Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube for unbridled gamer rage salt to share with the world to make themselves feel better. I merely suggested twitter search results on the whole terf war dilemma surrounding the rpg indie game Heartbeat, but apparently gamer troon salt touched a nerve.

Gamer salt is gamer salt to me regardless of what kind of people it comes from. It was a surprise to open up the app and suddenly be removed from the server, but it's also hilarious to know that even salt hoarders themselves got buttons to dispense their own salt.

Meta Mirage is not quite a chessmaster, with an FIDE score of about 2100. He's an an-cap who only gets off to Japanese girls, and happens to be very good at creeping out people around him when talking about things other than chess, which made him pretty self-conscious, so he always stressed the fact that he was NOT gay and was DEFINITELY straight. He used Photoshop lots, making pretty uncanny shit with Japanese girls in it.

I don't have any receipts, but I remember him sending a picture of his shit in a toilet bowl to a different server with no rules. I didn't talk to him afterwards.

A Discord friend of mine had some greasy fat not-yet-neckbeard pedo harass him, asking for nudes and all that shit. Friend got pissed, so he got me and a couple of other dudes together in a server and we doxed him. Pedo was in high school, so we told them that "student so and so is harassing people online for nudes". He must've gotten into big trouble, 'cause last time I checked, he tried to erase every bit of his online presence.
