Discord Server Decay Syndrome

How come every time there's a Discord server that's not directly related to/affiliated with internet stuff like 4chan, etc., it always ends up overrun with the most humorless NPCs imaginable within a few months? I don't mean people hesitant to say "nigger", I mean faggots who say "yikes" and shit all the time. What's with that?

My school's (or rather my classmate's) server had a faggot who said that when he thought big ol' 243 quarter pounder orange man saying "muh Chinese Virus" was racist and he thought I was joking when I called him a faggot for saying "yikes" at that.

I've noticed that, too. I figure it's just because mentally ill people who tend to become humorless NPCs are the same ones that'll sit on their phones all day, every day, living on Discord and policing everyone as they see fit until they're all that's left. People with structure in their lives don't have the time nor energy to just sit around online every single day.

Word of advice, regulate who actually joins your server if you genuinely care about forming a cohesive community. If you just throw out your Discord link to whoever asks, it'll get overrun as you say. Also, Discord servers related to Internet stuff get overrun all the time.

Depending on what the purpose of the server is there are a ton of 4chan servers which fall all over the spectrum, from typical bants to shit like trying to turn guys into sissy girls. I'm sure there's a happy medium of channers that make some normie server where they focus on the topic they like and maybe have a cooking channel to share recipes as well.

I no longer use discord, but I used to for a few comfy communities around the games I personally liked, each and every discord server I joined suffered this decay.

We had a guild in one game, it was fairly small but people knew each other and it was generally nice, over time however the number of players diminished and the only ones that were left were the people who personally knew each other.
We tried to recruit new people to keep the game going, however the people that joined were either utter faggots that caused more problems than it was worth or people who simply brought nothing to to the table and just stayed AFK on the server.

I was also part of another server, this one diminished in another way, it became again, a personal friend group that grew increasingly hostile or dismissive to outsiders who might want to join. The server was publicly advertised but had some dramas with other similar servers, so you find people branching off, setting up their own discord and shunning anyone else because they're part of "the other server".

I once attempted to join a server for the same game out of curiosity, they seemed outwardly friendly and nice, but they were hyper autistic abut what channel you should post, they had a fucking channel for "lore", then "lore discussion", then lore for each fucking playable character race in the game. Needless to say, the person running it and the moderators were power tripping anime avatar fags an all round insufferable cunts.
The fuckers even had a 'makeup and beauty' channel which was a clear sign they were using the server as their own personal facebook... Oh yea, they also had manhand nail painting pictures.

Why is it that when it comes to Discord, those who use anime avatars are either troons, nazis, or both?
