Alyson Stoner ( another Disney channel alumni) talked about extensively how Disney more or less treats many of their stars like Japanese idols.

There's a lot of purity culture involved and most of these kids spend a lot of their formative years essentially acting like a caricature of what a real kid would act like.

Which more often than not leads to them doing the most extreme thing just to showcase how "mature" they are.

A similar thing with Miley Cyrus during her wigger era, and Vanessa Hudgens doing pornographic content after the second high School musical, Bella Throne also come to mind since she does that too.

You can even go further back to the 1950s, or even when child actors being into young adults they still had to act like they were kids for publicity sake which resulted in mental breakdowns or then offing themselves.

A more glaring issue is these young people being brought into unsafe atmospheres, which I believe is really the catalyst for them acting out. It is hardly a secret anymore that Nickelodeon and Disney have extensive pedophile networks that allows many of the directors and associates to get away with being sex pests and pushers around kids. Dove was likely a victim of some truly horrid power dynamics that were allowed to flourish.

I look forwards to the 2050 Proud Family reboot crossover episode. Wonder if there'll be a remix of some of Ruckus' songs on it.

I don't really care about the races of the Hercules cast. Hercules is a profoundly ancient and not exclusively Greek deity. Plus, I don't quite understand why Disney would even bother tethering this into the animated film. Just make a fun movie about Hercules.

But since it's out there:

KJ Apa is dumb and muscular and hot. Approve.

I despise that anorexic homewrecker Ariana Grande, she needs many years of intense therapy for the shit she's done and had done to her. I think they should see if Miley Cyrus is available, her voice and energy are much more Meg-like than Ari.

The jokes the Boondocks got away with via Uncle Ruckus are the hardest racist humor that has ever been put on tv. He will be memoryholed like Uncle Remus.

I recently saw Wish with my kids, it was a solid meh. My kids liked it but the fact that it hasn't had a lasting effect on them tells me they weren't too into it. I feel like there's the bones of a good Disney film here but it buried under the bullshit that they've been pedalling for years now. The suits at Disney probably thought they had a winner and don't understand why it hasn't found an audience.

Did you see the movie? Hades was a sleezy used car saleman, arguably the exact opposite of Patrick Bateman. Woods just toned down his role in Casino by a few notches and it was perfect. same way Joe Pesci in home alone is a kid friendly version of his goodfellas character. Bale's a terrible choice, at best he'd have to do something similar to his role in that ARABSCAM movie.

Which is crazy because the best/most memorable performances in films are from the villians, outside of Tom Hanks its pretty much impossible to name an a-list or amazing actor who didn't play a villian at some point. They're unironically keeping non-whites from becoming great. Look at James Earl Jones, or Wesley Snipes or countless other black actors who played a villian. There's a reason Denzel won the oscar for training day and not any of his other roles.
