This film will either be alright or be more nails in Disney's coffin.
I'm reminded of The Little Mermaid TV show for some reason. Wasn't a bad show, but hopefully it's better than that.

Anyway, more release dates:
Zootopia 2 (2025)
Toy Story 5(!!!) (2026)
Frozen 3 (2026)

We going back for another try of toy story.
Yuri will come for frozen 3.
Zootopia lol
.....
Fornight gamers did it.
Investment of 1.5 billion in Epic games to Cary Disney in the meta verse age.

Hastily reworking a TV SERIES into a sequel sounds like the quality will be all over the place and they couldn't even get back the Little Mermaid guys or LMM.

Instead, they hire the woman behind the girls behind the Brigerton Tik tok musical

Creatively. Bankrupt.

Since when did Moana even be considered for a sequel to begin with? There's practically nothing about it that warrants a sequel, Disney's really creatively hurting if they're deciding to mention this now.

Tamatoa isn't going to be the second lightning strike, either. He's a one-and-done one-scene wonder and that's just perfectly fine.

They're going all in on the sequels after the massive failures they had in 2023. Not surprising since no matter how shit some of these end up being they're bound to make a ton of money.

Well everybody complained about the man for like 3 years straight, and now that Miranda is mostly out we are going from a pop song writer for Demi Lovato to a couple of women who made a unofficial musical on tiktok.

You used to need a pedigree to compose for Walt Disney animation but now they just pick up anybody

Zootopia needed to have a sequel at least four years ago. Or hell, since they were going all in on streaming some light-hearted buddy-cop series on D+ (call it Hopps & Wilde or some shit). That they didn't have anything until now is a major dropping of the ball.

And didn't Toy Story 4 seriously underperform? I figured the writing was pretty much on the wall for that franchise at this point?

At the rate this is going, I won't be too surprised if Elon and Peltz join up to try a takeover.

Yep, I'm sure sassy sheboon will be able to take over Depp, definitely, this will not be a bomb for the ages.

To be fair, they managed to shit out sequels for Lady and the Beast and Lion King which also had nothing to work with. Of course have to emphasize "shit out" here, and seeing how it will be a Frankenstein of a failed tv show, it will be the equivalent of a direct to video one. Though knowing current year +8 Disney, it probably cost 200 million to make anyway.
What's even the point of having a Moana sequel and a live-action remake in development at the same time?
Money

Their hope is to make, it will probably be wasted (again). But whoring out Moana so hard in such a short amount of time makes sense since it was the last proper success they had before the spiral and The Rock is still liked.
Problem is that Disney has consistently ruined franchises with horrible sewuals and remakes and people are catching on. The next Moana will not be anywhere near as successful as they hope.

The company does seem to be in a death spiral now. They'll probably shut down or sell some significant divisions by the end of the year.

Definitely, but they are full of retards and mouth breathers that don't know what else to do. So they'll just keep burning everything till there is only ash.

No, it made a little over a billion dollars with a 200 million budget. Even if you do the multiply by three thing for ads and theater cuts, it still made several hundred million dollars.
