Treasure Planet: Jim becomes Jeanette, she immediately catches on to the fact that Silver is planning a mutiny, her and Captain Amelia (whom she is gay for, sorry Doppler) team up to stop it and take all of the treasure for themselves, Silver gets thrown in jail, the Benbow Inn is reopened as a sanctuary for gay aliens.
I was gonna say they'd still keep Jim as Jim so he could be in a gay relationship with Silver, but you're right that they'd just make Captain Amelia a girlboss dyke.

You didn't need to type girlboss after dyke. That was already heavily implied by your use of the phrase girlboss.

I think the princess academy idea would have been a great middle ground.

Basically think of a mix between hey Arnold and House of mouse, but the kicker is that it's essentially all of the female Disney characters attending a school on how to be a proper lady.

Unfortunately, the development held behind Tangled meant that this didn't work out

But didn't that still end up happening (sorta) in Wreck it Ralph 2?

It could just be lip service to the few remaining woke twats. Still performatively saying the shit they think you're meant to say. What really matter is what ends up in the film. There have been numerous films where people involved say the woke shit and it isn't actually in the film.

Apparently Elio was going to be a bunch of gay shit until higher-ups realized Trump was the POTUS and tried to salvage it.
Per THR, multiple Pixar staffers have released a scathing report on Elio's development. Here are the key highlights:- Pixar massively changed Elio after the original cut was test screened, and not a single person raised their hand when asked if they’d pay to see the film in a movie theater.- A Pixar staffer says, “The Elio that is in theaters right now is far worse than Adrian’s best version of the original.”. “Suddenly, you remove this big, key piece, which is all about identity, and Elio just becomes about totally nothing,”- The budget was “well north of 200 million”, while other reports suggest the film was 150 Million.- Originally, Elio was written and presented to be much more queer-coded, a reflection of Adrian Molina himself and his upbringing, but this notion was cut entirely, along with scenes like photo's in Elio's room involving a male crush.- Pixar employees say that studio executives themselves cut queer elements from ‘Elio’ and the decision did not come from Disney: “A lot of people like to blame Disney, but the call is coming from inside the house. A lot of it is obeying-in-advance behavior, coming from the higher execs at Pixar.”- Former Pixar assistant editor Sarah Ligatich, who provided feedback during Elio production as a member of the company’s internal LGBTQ group PixPRIDE said that a number of creatives working on the film stepped down after the directors shared their first cut of the revised movie: “The exodus of talent after that cut was really indicative of how unhappy a lot of people were that they had changed and destroyed this beautiful work.”A lot to unpack, and even more in the report itself. It's a shame we might never actually see what the film was originally going to be or if it would've made the difference. As it stands, Elio's heading towards being one of the biggest box office flops the studio's ever had...

What the fuck is wrong with Pixar? At least Disney seems to be mainly greedy, which is understandable. Pixar goes full suicidal with woke, to the point it would be a mercy to take the brand (and the workers) ans shoot them behind a shed.

Disney kept the gay shit in Strange World, which ultimately didn't matter because no one saw it. Also they left at least half a billion on the table by making Ariel black.

I think the issue of producers making movies for and about themselves instead of for others is just as big as the whole originality vs rehash debacle.
Also, have someone check Adrian's hard drive immediately, I don't trust this one bit

Bad, clickbaity headline. It's a much longer interview in which he briefly pays lip-service to wanting to reach a global audience, which means fostering different kinds of filmmakers. He never even uses the term "diversity."

The greater issue is that he seems unwilling to commit to any particular vision. He loves everything, everything's great, this is so important and also that is so important. He doesn't seem like a leader ready to make tough decisions.

They got overtaken by #MeToo like many other Hollywood companies. Under #MeToo, the young upstarts at Pixar were able to shoot to the top taking out the old Boomer Lasseter as he would occasionally rub an elbow or knee. Tons of talent left with John, so now there is no one to keep any sort of lid on things within the company nor can it be salvaged as the current heads have staffed it with yes men. You would have to go scorched Earth mode to even begin to fix the company.

It's still small potatoes appealing to current year, not the level of shit Pixar's been doing at the last couple of years, that goes full tranny level.

I always wondered if The Incredibles made those type of people especially seeth due to being connected to objectivism.

One of the few cases where the higher-ups made the right call, even if it couldn't save this shit film from being a colossal failure. Despite all the astroturfing, the vast majority of the world still rightfully hates homos and doesn't want to see them in films, let alone those intended for children.
