t all does seem to suggest a rather shallow talent pool
how the fuck did that even happen? i thought pixar got its head staff divded in two to help train the disney animation people on 3d and its been almost a decade and a half since then, the fact that Fawn has over a dozen years working and is still this shit is embarrassing. She is right at the point of her career where she should be knocking out hits. toy story, nightmare before christmas, and batman TAS were all done by people about a dozen years into working in animation and slowly rising in the management pipeline. I'm amazed at how bad this movie is considering how its two directors had a combined 50 years of animation skill.
Anyone knows why Disney stopped making animation films for boys?
they flopped hard, literally every film you want to bring up flopped super fucking hard. as for why they stopped trying, boys especially in the 2000s and 2010s were all about pirating shit and aren't a merch heavy demo. the Beevis and Butthead revivial in the 2010s was a ratings juggernaut and they still canceled it because that male demo isn't good for advertisers anymore. boys are all about vidya games instead of toys, same with not buying clothes or accessories the way the girls do. Although that could have just been a bunch of bullshit, because Him and the South Park guys got massive contracts for putting their shit on streaming but maybe its because you don't have to worry about advertisers when it comes to streaming shows so you can focus on a demo in a way that wasn't worth it on television and you can get away with having lower viewship.
But it is sort of hilarious how every cartoon for boys flopped super hard in theaters and became a cult classic later on. whereas the girls kept showing up to the theaters. in fact the 2000s were sort of a massive era for marketing to teenage girls. Mean girls lead to a shitload of "knockoffs" and then there's the disney channel shows from lizzie macguire onward and pop stars like Britney spears and her "knockoffs" it was insane in hindsight. If anything Twilight/Hunger Games and the YA explosion was sort of a spin on the earlier boom. And then tv shows like "Girls" and "Broad City" was them appealing to the same group overall and you could argue the "make them women, gay, and lame" is about getting more blood out of that same demo stone. Which also makes sense, because the male demo is a fuck load more fickle, Think how quickly the fanbase turned on GOT or The Witcher and again thats if the Men bother paying. Look at the biggest "for men" media out there, joe rogan/andrew tate or porn. And its mostly all content put out there for fucking free. Even if its a movie that does appeal to men like maybe The Joker, its a lot more of a general audience film and can't be as awesome as say American Pie or Road House. The Hangover was probably the last big film that could be considered dude oriented that was huge and the sequels never hit as big because of how fickle men are.
You can notice the flip too, the late 2000s was when they really gave up on appealing to men, look at the trailers for transformers 2, megan fox on a bike was the huge iconic part of the marketing for that film, also look at stuff like the axe spray campaign or "fratire" from that era. Then it went from that to more general audience/women oriented with no more sex appeal to market your movies and then no more female nudity in your HBO shows and now its cunts destroying our favorite franchises all the time. If you even attempt to put out a trailer as Male Gazey as the transformers 2 trailer those Red Letter Media faggots would throw the biggest shitfit on the planet.
TL;DR Rich Evans is the reason they stopped making films for boys that stupid faggot i hope he dies of AIDS.
