Spy x Family has been whoring itself like mad in multiple crossovers. The manga is alright (started strong, now just alright) but the amount of attention it keeps getting baffles me.
I just find it funny because, if I'm remembering right and not mixing up series, the author of Spy x Family hates the series, because they made it for a paycheque and it became more successful than anything else they wrote. Unfortunately, unless you're a Toriyama and able to just do whatever you want, your chasing the dragon that pays the bills - which would explain the sheer amount of crossovers, if the author doesn't really give a fuck about the series.

So if the Spy x Family/Wish crossover does well, it'll potentially cause 2 different kinds of Mald.

Yeah, I remember reading something like that. Thing is, it's a story that made sense to be a realtively short story with 4-5 volumes, but it's decided to go to a screeching halt with barely any progress. The slice of life is nice enough to keep it going and Anya being a retarded kid is hilarious, but Yor is "just there" for the most part and Twilight needs random shit to pop up every once in a while to get him out of "normal life". It and Kaiju 8 were both the shining stars of Sueisha online only manga, though Spy is nowhere near as bad as Kaiju 8.

You know, sometimes I wonder what would happen if Walt Disney was alive today or maybe if he got his company start during the last few decades as opposed to when he did .

I can only imagine the migraine he would have dealing with social media and people demanding for him to do XYZ to validate their opinions.

He would've been forcibly removed from his own company just for being a white Christian male who made sure his employees worked hard to the best of their abilities and preferred having women be the colorists. Prior to the 1941 strike, he used to pop in at random to work one-on-one with people, some crazy lady would've #MeToo'd him just for looking over her shoulder.

Apparently Steamboat Willy and early Mickey Mouse is now in the Public domain.

I think it just might be a case where the adaptation is done really well, that it elevates the source material.
I also think there is a secret truth behind the meme that the japanese government is pushing spy x family to get people to have kids.

LOL.

LMAO, even
It's like a meme how ugly modern Disney is. Even with the mutt heroine, the composition is ugly, 80% of the frame is empty, while the Japanese side it feels way more alive.

I think it was a mistranslation and more like he threw shit against the wall and it was insanely successful.

It would be interesting to ask a Japanese anime fan about what he considers a golden age, I can see old fags go with the time before the economic bubble crush (which aligns with anime being mass imported to the USA), but anime right now is in a really good quality and sales point, especially with how dry the market was during COVID.

It's also a weird comparison since Disney is a single megacorp while anime has plenty of studios... Maybe having actual market competition is a good thing....

You aren't wrong.
He would be dealing with millions of people on Twitter telling him how to run his job despite none of them knowing anything about animation or the business

All of this of course, while the same people still hoard their way into theaters to see whatever he was putting out
