Mufasa won't shut up about Milele and scar is basically smitten with sarabi and acts kind of like a wingman of sorts but ultimately sarabi ends up falling in love with Mufasa and that is essentially what sends scar down the deep end.
Fucking really? That's the only reason Scar envies Mufasa so much? Not because their parents played favorites or whatever it was implied in the original, but because Scar had to settle for less? Sounds like a complete letdown, and the bar was already set so low to begin with.

Basically, Scar falls in love with sarabi and it stated to basically be the next king but that kind of falls apart as she and everybody else begin to sort of see Mufasa as the true chosen one.
Upon her and Mufasa getting it on scar basically ends up despising Mufasa and decides to tell the White Lion and his pride where pride Rock is which basically leads to the climax.
2019 scar was mentioned to have a thing for sarabi so this is basically an extension of that
Mufasa is found and saved by baby Scar who immediately tells him that he's always wanted a brother but his father is rightfully not keen on taking in another male lion not just because of the obvious reason but also because there are a group of Outsiders going around and dismantling entire prides.
It's not awful per se, but the script is very confusing.

Come to think of it, an important element of Hamlet was the uncle lusting for his brother's wife leading to his usurpation of the throne. But it's an element totally missing from the Lion King, so introducing it now seems bizarre.
Makes me wonder how the hell they’re going to implement Zira if they remake TLK2. Because I’m pretty sure they’re going to, it was one of the better classic Disney sequels.

Given what's going on with Jay Z and Beyonce along with the potential reception of the film, we don't even know if that's going to be approachable.
Even the nicest of critics that I follow have been pretty low on this movie and the worst has yet to come considering Snow White is right around the corner.
I've actually seen a few of you were say that yeah.
Base on the interviews that I saw a couple of weeks ago it seems like LMM was bought on after the script was already completed and this was also around the time that Disney had him in a zoom call with the woman behind the Moana sequel soundtrack to coach them on how to write for a musical.
That is so damning that it basically puts the last couple of years of Disney into perspective.
Or whatever reason, Disney has been hiring people who have no experience with animation or even if theatrical world to orchestrate their major productions.
Before the Renaissance even happened Disney was hungry and add animators that fought to make art, but nowadays it's just a huge business that owns half of Hollywood.
Several of their movies flopping doesn't mean anything when they have several other studios producing hits that circumvents how bad their main studio is.

I don't know why Scar was written to be jealous of Mufasa's marriage in this... like in the original Lion King movie from the 90's, Zazu literally spells it out for the audience: Scar was next in line to inherit Pride Rock before Simba, Mufasa's son and heir, was born. You don't need to write in some love triangle nonsense.
To be fair, Wandavision was like the only marvel show a lot of people were interested in/have seen, so it makes sense for its direct sequal to have more pull than most of the other slop.
If Walt could see 2025 Snow White and the shit surrounding it, do you think it would make him become more or less antisemitic?
