I know that we're long past Moana two but LMM was recently asked by the independent about the backlash regarding the music by those tiktok influencers and he dropped this troop bomb.

Essentially, when Disney bought those girls in they had no idea how to write for an animated musical to the point that Jared bush had to call up Miranda while he was working on Mufasa to do video calls with them to teach them the basics of what they were hired to do.

He literally gave them a book by Stephen Sondheim on what the basics for a theatrical musical are and even with all that they basically tried to mimic his style and make D tier music.

This is the state of the current Disney musical.

So I watched the not tranny episode from Win or Lose and... It's pretty great. Seriously, I was surprised but this version works and is one of the best episodes if not the best. Unlike many other episodes hers feels connected with other episode and has kid centric themes and conflicts.

Kai is likable and her family drama is interesting. She and her dad moved to a new town to live with her grandmother for unknown reason. Her dad is really pushy and picky about his daughter being successful and the best version of herself but otherwise they have a close, playful and loving relationship. You can understand why she both wants please him and finds him to be an absolutely pain she needs distance herself from. It's well handled.

Is there tranny shit? No. There some mild trances but they aren't too bad. Like how much emphasis there is to Kai giving her name to the team, one reason she gives why she wants to play softball is the team being co-ed and Kai's a year earlier design is extremely boyish and her current day design looks very girly but you do need to look for them witch is why I say no. The boy look is the most noticeable but you can buy the change as just a glowup with her getting comfortable and happy with her new town, hobby and life.

We've been watching newer Pixar stuff lately. Since Pixar seems to want to make movies about different cultures so much, it would be interesting to see one about some Native American tribes culture. Maybe Navajo. I know it would be tough for them not to shove in evil white settlers, but it would be nice if they didn't and instead explored all the mythology and history before that. You could have songs in Navajo and win points.

Here's the official trailer for Elio

Well, it's not the worst but I don't have any interests in seeing it. Also at the vore scene at the end! 😱
A young Hispanic kid with a single mother in the US military who wants badly to be abducted by aliens to get away from his hell. Ya know, this has some realism going on here. Also he has one eye because I assume one of the guys she brought home threw something at him. Being a kid in a military situation like that fucking sucks

Y'know I'm getting old, but I want to know if this will resonate with today's kids in anyway. In the mean time we need some new marketing firms or something because these trailers are not it.

Rachel Zegler could be a charming genius with all the correct opinions and it wouldn’t move the needle on this disaster. No one’s seen her full performance and what we have seen of it from the trailer is the least of the film’s issues. No one is going to see or not see this because of her.
Oddly enough, the discussingfilm review praised Rachel's performance big time, and said Gal Gadot's could be her worst yet. They still gave the movie a 2/5 lol

EDIT: RT is at 48%
47 on Metacritic

On retrospect, listening to this song really makes me understand why people hate musicals, I personally love musicals, but songs like this are the type of songs the anti-musical people think about when they hate that genre.

This brand of theater pop really doesn't fit this old fantasy story, and the attempts to modernize it come across as cringeworthy. It feels like there is no sincerity to it and I feel that is what Disney wanted or simply doesn't give a shit since their whole model of live action remakes rely on Disney Adults to blindly give every movie millions of dollars because of childhood nostalgia and dragging their kids to see it.
You know, I'm usually not too big on musicals most of the time. One of the things I like about the original Snow White is that characters simply sing songs at times normal people would sing songs, like marching songs or working songs, instead of elaborate numbers or people randomly singing at each other instead of talking.

Isn't this kind of ignoring the original's virtue of having catchy songs that don't feel out of place?

cannot wait to hear how bad it is in full

Weather or not Disney will makes their money back (assuming they didn't lie about Snow White's budget) and all the bad PR surrounding this movie won't matter in the end. That Lilo and Stitch movie will make a fuck load of money and incentivize those jews to continue making remakes.

Do the 'Seven Plucky DEI Hires' still appear in this movie? Were they pasted over by CGI dwarfs or are they the prince's posse like was rumored a year ago? I'm sure you remember these guys.

Apparently this band of merry DEI faggots weren't dwarves, but some group of bandits/thieves/whatever that was shoved into the movie. No idea if they remain or not after this film was reshot a thousand times, I am going to guess no.

I'm so fucking tired of bean mouth/calarts face it's even worse now that they are putting it in 3D animation, fuck yourself you dumb hacks I will not watch your slop if you can't even make your characters jaw overextend like feral niggers.

I wonder if they'll end up eternally big mad like Billy West is/was about that time Brad Pitt basically just narced his reads for that Sinbad cartoon

pretending you're giving any fucks about any acting in that shitheap is a clear sign you're being payed
unrelated
Horizons was really great
it says a lot about what the Mouse was back then that they shitted away how much money just so the kid's party had the Happy Birthday song at the end of the ride, when they could have just had chatter or anything else and nobody normal would have noticed or cared
long long ago, 20th century

Her movie is busy bombing and she still won't shut the fuck up.

The BBC probably has the most interesting review, because it's pointing out what I'm certain has happened - it's two films, the traditionalist version and the 'woke' version, spliced into one, and they clash with each other, which is how you get 7 dwarves and 7 thieving socialists.
