Anyone else watch the new Muppets?

I thought it was okay, but it felt like it needed more time and just had a certain charm missing. I can see it doing well, but I think it needs more time to really build up as the first episode had too much happening.
It was alright, but it didn't make me laugh much. Maybe I just prefer the Muppets in movie form.

That's unlikely, Disney replaced Robin Williams with Dan Castellaneta for Return of Jafar and the TV series due to a fallout between Disney and Williams regarding contracts (IIRC it was advertising-related) and being the latter costing less. Williams returned to voice Genie in Forty Thieves but another Disney-Williams fallout occurred after it released which caused Castellaneta to "permanently" inherit the role until he was replaced by Jim Meskimen.
Jim Meskimen's career is a bunch of bit parts. I had only heard of him because he did a bunch of spots for a long-defunct supermarket called Skaggs Alpha Beta (most of them must've been awful if these were the ones he uploaded).

If they're not planning on solving the mystery in any way, don't make it a mystery, that's my stance.
"Mystery box" writing is when the plot, not the setting, is the mystery. In My Hero Academia, there wasn't any explanation for the quirks, they just "happened" and that's how we got superheroes. With LOST, the mystery was what the island was and its purpose (and specifically denying the purgatory theory), and there was no plan despite increasingly convoluted and interesting twists. When it comes to movies like The Last Jedi, I can't blame Rian Johnson for cutting off all of the bullshit TFA had in it. Did he do it in the most spiteful way he could've? Yes. Did he rescue the ST with the writing and plot that was useful and not mystery box bullshit? Absolutely not.

Whoever in casting chose Rosie O'Donnell for Terk needs to have a hammer taken to their scrotum/labia majora, however..
I'm not sure why Rosie became as popular as she did. If you look at the movies she did in the 1990s. Most of them were terrible and almost every single time, Rosie was singled out as the problem.

If you look at Rosie's filmography (excluding documentaries and archive footage) post Sleepless in Seattle basically every single one is bad.
Another Stakeout. 16% on RT. Lost money.
Fatal Instinct. 17% on RT, though O'Donnell only had a bit part.
Car 54, Where Are You?. 0% on RT. Box office bomb. Winner of Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.
I'll Do Anything. Small part, but box office bomb.
The Flintstones. 23% on RT. Movie was successful but another Winner of Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.
Exit to Eden. Starring role. 5% on RT. Box office bomb.
Now and Then. Starring role. 36% on RT.
Beautiful Girls. Surprisingly profitable and decent reviews, but only a supporting role.
Harriet the Spy. Did well enough critically and commercially.
A Very Brady Sequel. Cameo role only, so irrelevant for this list.
Wide Awake. Starring role. 45% on RT but major flop.
Get Bruce. Cameo only.
Tarzan. Successful despite O'Donnell's involvement.
The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. Voice part only, but 26% on RT. Box office bomb.
Riding the Bus with My Sister. Hallmark movie where Rosie sounds like a retard because her character is developmentally disabled. Negative reviews criticizing O'Donnell's performance.

Greatest showman may have had shit plot but like you said the visuals were great and every single song was a crowdpleaser.

The movie felt less like an auter retard director/songwriter wanting to leave his mark on the industry forever by expressing his artistic inner soul and more like a cynical guy that gives 0 fucks about art but knows what people like making a musical popcorn summer movie for the masses. Ironically on point for a musical about PT Barnum.

I never saw The Greatest Showman or heard any of its songs but from what I remember (it was one of the December releases, not summer) that Hugh Jackman did most of the heavy lifting as to why the movie was successful.

In other news, anyone hear anything on Hoppers? The plot, according to Wikipedia reads "After a group of scientists invent a way to "hop" human minds into lifelike robotic animal bodies, an animal-loving teenager named Mabel uses their technology to embody a robotic beaver and thwart a construction company's plot to destroy the local animal habitat" which sounds incredibly boring and overdone.

All i heard was aznidentity bitching that most recent asian characters are female when i was checking on if they sperged about the heated rivalry hapa being the bottom yet.
Literally nothing else than that, its like the movie never even came out or was even announced in most pop culture spaces.

This is the only one they ever play from that fucking movie. It's pretty much a lolcow anthem since it's about the freaks in the circus.

I use to hear this shit at my old job I worked at and the worst thing this "song" was ever in was this shitty drug ad.

It's basically Avatar for kids.

Supposedly, unlike Avaturd, when the girl convinces the animals to fight back, she quickly realizes her mistake once her protest is taken over by violent psychos and thus she tries to fix the whole thing, so at least it's more self-aware than the A. movies (or at least the latest trailers implied so).
I recall that in one of the Avatar games that launched after the first movie, you could join the humies to exterminate the dirty aliens, and if you joined the aliens, the finale changed compared to the movie, ending with your traitorous ass being shot as a reward for betraying humanity.

Still can't figure out why the Aladdin cartoon was never released on DVD or Disney Plus....

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command isn’t on there either, which is some absolute bullshit since the Lightyear movie from a few years ago is on there and is fucking terrible (I know there’s rumors Pixar hates BLOSC and Disney doesn’t put it on there out of respect for them, but I think that’s nonsense since Disney owns Pixar now anyways AND Pixar willingly animated openings for the 3-part pilot TV movie and the TV series…).

Was the Mighty Ducks cartoon ever released on DVD or Disney Plus too or no?

This was announced last month but apparently Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is being “split” in two later this year with the original trilogy taking one part and the sequel trilogy taking another. I personally don't have an issue with this change since the sequel trilogy is somewhat shitty while the original trilogy is fondly remembered by everyone.

Oh, and Gay Days recently announced that they're pausing their Orlando event this year. This technically affects all of Orlando's theme parks but Disney's parks were major players in it. That said Disneyland's after-dark Pride Nite event is still scheduled to continue as planned.
Disney fired their TikTok viral Evil Queen
To be fair this was technically her fault, she encouraged people to get vocal about Disney dropping villain characters from regular park appearances (with them returning during certain parts of the year and events like DCA’s Oogie Boogie Bash) in-character on TikTok. There is a way to do it but it’s a bit of a pain in the ass for those who don’t regularly go to the parks: you have to go to Disneyland City Hall (or DCA's equivalent) and complain to guest services about it.

It's available on Disney+ in the US and has been since the service launched in late 2019.

When a show for toddlers has morals about cleaning your room instead of fighting serial killers or whatever 😱

Most of the outrage has to be fake, no way theyre actually complaining about the side kick being a 'snow bunny' over it being a literal childrens stuffed rabbit come to live as far as i can see.

Also id maybe get it if it was released exactly on juneteenth or something, but going 'omg black history month !!11!11!' at literally anything released in february has become super obnoxious.
