No one asked for sequels to these movies, the endings were fine on their own. Incredibles 2 was something that should have done at the peak of the 1st movie's success, and now we have a bandwagon of a VERY late bandwagon. I don't recall many people even talking about the 2nd movie aside from how much it sucked and/or paled in comparison to the first one.
"ackhsully chud, the older sister didn't abandon lilo to foster care so she could go to college, we made a movie to prove it!
My parents are boomers and they (at least my mom) think the remakes are good.. somehow.
i thought the jungle book was fine because i haven't watched the original in a long time. the remakes are fine if you can't compare them to the original because... why the fuck would i watch the originals as an adult?

It's Mario, no shit it's going to do numbers. They should be happy Pixar got a W and leave it at that.
Thats not even a Pixar W. Its a movie that is Nearing the break even point, which is still bad since investors want movies to rake in several times their budget rather than simply make back that money.

It's just as bad because the movie has been out for a full month and is just now breaking even. This is the same song and dance they played with Elemental.

Now dont be delulu Toonhive, kpop demon hunters MAXIMISED its appeal to little girls by looking like frozen/barbie dolls/etc, featuring kpop and a handsome love interest, and then also being a cool take on the magical girl thing.
From what weve seen, BeFri would feature a boring ass magical girl system with a very ugly artstyle and no romance. And the storyboards we saw were a melodramatic, cringy hot mess. Not only would it not appeal to boys, but it also wouldn't appeal to girls much.

They make plenty of bank off the disney princess movies that are aimed at just girls, 'it doesnt appeal to little boys' seems to just be the excuse they give to can any girly movie thats obviously gonna be bad. Which is why they passed the beaver thing with a female MC because its actually enjoyable to a degree.

From what we've seen of BeFri it looks like the protagonist wasn't even a magical girl, the magical girls seemed like an antagonist cool kids group while the protagonist was another short dumpy Totally Relatable™ kid who didn't want their friend joining them.

The sUbVeRsIoN shit ruins everything.

Yeah, little girls would totally be into this :story:

I know it’s concept art and thus would’ve been more streamlined, but the fat kid is giving me such tumblr OC vibes, especially with how over designed she is. What a mess.
Edit, the quotes on this are full of cope. “God forbid MIDDLE SCHOOLERS don’t look like idealized women! Why must people get pissy over concept art? Why couldn’t this exist alongside KDH??”

Because it's laaaaaame.
I'm half-joking but it's not that deep: you can add some relatable emotional shit but children want cool stuff to watch not a therapy session.
KDH is ultra cool themed with pretty protags who litterally kick asses in cool gears with cool songs and are cool even when they are le sad.
Also having akward kids as Main Characters is not an excuse, look at The Goonies.

Pocohontas was cool when they showed the English colonists (enjoyed that as a kid)

Same with Aladdin and Mulan

You would really have to push the boat out in terms of action to keep up with KPDH. Most of the modern Western animation I enjoy doesn't really seem to board action all that well. There are exceptions, of course, but it's far from the norm.
