I like to think Doug lost his virginity with Patti but it was understood to be a one time fling and they both moved on in their lives.

I don't know if it was the show's goal to make it as creepy and one-sided as it really was, or the creator thought this was as genuine as it gets.
I mean, he eventually does befriend her (in an acquaintance sort of way), but even then, he's constantly learning new things about her; he doesn't know her at all. Nor does he even make any effort to do so.

The romance was basically: Shy awkward new kid sees a pretty girl and instantly falls in love when she does one nice thing for him.
I want to say Patti was piqued at least once with their date and whatnot, but unlike Doug (who never notices anything), she knew it was a lost cause after that. But Doug only continues his insane one-sided infatuation with a girl he knows almost nothing about, and has virtually nothing in common with.

Why fans root for this sort of hook up unironically is disturbing.

If Patti wound up with anyone from the series, it was Chalky. The other conceited sports maniac.

I'd still rank it as "highly unlikely, but less unlikely than a lot of other times"
as it is the company still has ridiculous stockpile of content and brands it could sell off parts of, and there's no small amount of real estate they own that could be flipped too

I'd be shocked if there isn't at the very least a huge-ass sell off of the more tangental companies. Iger really fucking blew it with Fox since there was no way Fox was worth nearly as much as was paid - IIRC the only possible reason Disney would have wanted all of Fox was for the rights to the OG Star Wars films or something on DVD/Blu Ray.

Corona hitting right after that deal and the failure to make any real money off of it by canning pretty much all the in-development movies after Dark Phoenix...that was money flushed down the toilet. Had the parks stayed open then Disney might have weathred the blow but with the parks closed for two months and probably longer whenever that second wave of Covid-19 hits, this could be Standard Oil of the modern era. Except instead of the government forcing it to break apart, it's a disease.

No because he was based on the show's creator. Also when he told his embarrassing story about his reunion with the real life basis for Patty, he mentioned that Doug, Porkchop (who he's surprised is still alive) and Skeeter became animators. And the creator of Doug did eventually marry a different woman and he implied Doug did the same.

Masks are likely going to be required in all of the parks, or so Iger says. Tbh I'm starting to see mask requirements as more of a psychological thing that businesses are using to try to convince people that it's safe to go to them. Especially since a lot of people don't wear/use masks properly. I do wonder how the park aficionados will take this since they're a spergy bunch.

As far as California goes, LA county just extended the shelter in place order to July. Disneyland isn't in LA County but I doubt it'll open before then.

Yeah, I think I'll continue to hold off on any park visits until this whole thing subsides. Between the price of tickets and the misery of having to wear a mask for hours, it's honestly not worth the hassle.

Yeah, I think I'll continue to hold off on any park visits until this whole thing subsides. Between the price of tickets and the misery of having to wear a mask for hours, it's honestly not worth the hassle.

Imagine waiting in line for two hours in the 100 degree heat AND having to cover your face in a mask. No thank you.

You just know they're not going to reduce the ticket prices enough to match how many things they need to get rid of to enforce social distancing.

One of the things that was floating around was no parades and fireworks to avoid people clumping up and standing around. I assume all live performances and even some of the show attractions will be cut overall or at least limited.

At least all the queues will probably be virtual so you can wait somewhere else in the park but I doubt it'll be much better. If anywhere would have their employees up your ass making sure you're staying away from people it'd be Disney.
