i might give it a go, although i dont know much about DnD other than having a character class, using weapons and stuff and throwing around random dices such as the holy d20 dice or something...

how do you do?

longtime lurker. made account last year and continued to lurk. just discovered this corner and was excited.... until seeing it was dead.
any chances of bringing it back? would love to join a new group. never dm'ed (working towards it, been spending a lot of time with dmg and various supplements and modules... just not 100% there) Oh, and 5e player but willing/want to learn other ttrpgs.

how you liking VRGTR?? Haven't DMed yet but when I do REALLY want to do something with that. Was playing CoS when it dropped and was at end of campaign and DM allowed me to use a few things from it that added some really great flavor/narrative...

I’m playing a Lasers and Feelings hack called Grit and Guts that’s pretty fun and simple, and down to try anything new. This current game is my only experience DMing. Ok so what platform y’all want to use? And is one night a week good to start?

Similar situation, long time lurker and just discovered this, willing to learn others ttrpgs. I'm my groups forever DM in 5e, so would be interested in being a player but can step-up if it comes down to it I suppose.

Never heard of this before, went down the rabbit hole and it's really interesting; need players that are eager to help carry some of the load with improv and worldbuilding though, how much of the heavy lifting do you end up doing with your group?

I apologize for ghosting from this thread and the farms, semester just started in grad school and I recently took over a nonprofit that has turned into far more than a volunteer gig but full time job.

forever DM- I am sorry. I hate how this seems to happen; the dm from my main campaign is a forever dm and although he’s amazing at it, I feel so bad; especially when our chaotic stupid PP literally destroyed our CoS campaign and their response was “you can just start another campaign next week.”

I plan to keep a better eye on this thread and would be interested in playing something. I’ve been trying in my free time to explore possible oneshots(or couple sessions) based on published material to test the waters and learn to dm. Not as exciting as an expansive homebrew but it’s a start. Maybe when I get my work done today that will be my recreation.
Had anyone played the oneshot in van richten? I’m thinking about how it might work to start and then lead into something else.

as for other systems, I’m super interested. One game I’ve read a lot about is 10 Candles but don’t know if some of the effect would be lost nor playing in person but still the story is great.

Life always comes first man, no need to apologize.

Also there's nothing wrong with being a forever DM, I really enjoy it and I love the group of people I play with. It's just that being a player uses a different set of muscles you don't get to stretch as often, if that makes sense lol.

Sucks to hear about your campaign though if you don't mind me asking how did he wreck it? I'm almost a year into my COS campaign and I feel like it's difficult to hit a wall like that even with a TPK.

I glanced over The House of Lament, the one-shot I think you're referring too, Seems like a good one especially with October/Halloween coming up and it's new enough that I doubt many here would be familiar with it.
