So I just got off ork, o if I am late its because I slept through my alarm.

Man, I wish I had the time to join you guys. My own D&D group hasn't been showing up whenever I schedule games. (:_(

Yeah... I think Ruby is gonna need a portable door if she is gonna preach to wizard pirates and show them how ridiculous (and I guess destructive too...) their occupation of piracy is, especially as wizards.

Because apparently it is bad form not to knock on a door first if you are a missionary. Yeeeeeeah... Ruby is starting to become a bit weirder and weirder as time goes by considering she is so concerned on whether or not there is a door now.

But yeah, that was a great session.

It's like poor Ruby is slowly losing grip on reality.
She could use Basil as a emotional support dog if she needs.

Oh my gosh, cute!

It's because you keep saying all of these crazy things about Ruby and I just roll with it. Like "there are no doors for you to knock on" or " your monastary doesn't exist" and also her trying to figure out what exactly she was called to do.

She was actually gonna be a very serious character

Perhaps she could have some benevolent realization or perhaps some spiritual awaking/vision in which she'll discover who she really is?

That reminds me, I really need to flesh out Basil some more so she's not just a happy-go-lucky corgi with a love of mead and ale and shiny things, haha.

Guys please, can we please just retcon this whole thing with Ruby? I never wanted it to happen and honestly, I don't really like it. I wanted her to be clueless rather than insane and I wanted to actually write to her monastary during the second session telling about what happened and just saying that she feels like she had a higher calling (which really does exist) but then Mauv or someone was like "the monastary doesn't exist" so I felt like I was forced to roll with it despite that is what I didn't want to, but to be honest, I really don't like it, I'm not enjoying a character with a personality I didn't want to play, I already have a goofy character in my other campaign already. Can we just say that the monastary does exist? I mean, she still felt called to her vocation when she was younger, but the monastary was real. I didn't realize that you guys were joking and I didn't have to go with you guys.

It's just becoming too confusing for me and I don't like it. Could we just somehow please work this out? I really want to play Ruby the way I intended. I really need to fix this. It was fun while it lasted, but really now... I'm not enjoying keeping this act up.

Sorry I missed again, I did not wake up till way late.

We could just say it was a joke between characters, gnomes being illusionists and all and it does in fact exist.

Yeah, sounds like a great idea, Surt. Yay! I feel like I'm off the hook and I'm not bound to be the entertaiment committee

There was that whole needing a portable door thing (which you missed) with Ruby trying to find her true calling and her obsession with fulfilling the archetype of a door-to-door missionary is mainly because well, Ruby is just clueless, she was never trained to be one so she thinks that you HAVE TO KNOCK ON DOORS, even if there is not a door in the vicinity.

I'm perfectly fine with you playing Ruby as you intended since she is your character after all, so no worries!
I like Surtur's idea of it being a joke between characters.

Thanks, wow, I feel like a huge burden was lifted off my chest!! Again, thanks guys!

I assume Ruby's actual backstory is the correct one, and she's just hassled by her less than sane co-adventurers. She'll get back around to her monastery eventually, being a bit more impressive than when she left.

I always thought that it was Ruby finding her true calling after she encountered the less than savoury bartender and the Clerics that had perverted the teachings of Pelor. The shroom dealer having tainted her work and then finding she could use her clerical powers to thwart evil and allow the undead to truely find rest.

So I am going to be out all weekend, starting tommorow, so I will not be able to make either game as I will be with my sweetheart.

I was great, but yeah, I was seriously grasping at straws to distract the cleric.

It has begun.

Basil v. sea serpent work in progress.
I recently found some 14in x 17in paper in my closet so I thought it would be fun to draw it on that.
edit: Haha, just realized I accidentally gave her a bow when she has a crossbow. Slow in da mind moment.

It's looking awesome!

I made the same mistake but I did check with our benevolent and merciful DM before I drew it...
