Do conversations delete themselves after a certain period of inactivity?

Earlier this year, several months ago, I recall having a conversation with another user about FOI requests. When I try to look through my conversations for that specific message thread, it's gone now, but I'm fairly certain I didn't leave it.

Do conversations delete themselves after a certain period of inactivity; if not, how do I find old conversations?

They're gone friend, ever since the hack they get deleted after a certain period.

30 days limit for all PMs from the last time someone posted (and if I recall correctly it doesn't count when one user posts multiple times in a row past 3 consecutive posts or so, so you can't have one party just keep bumping it forever to keep it alive).

I'm pretty sure it was implemented in the wake of the 2019 data leak.

Maybe it's best to have a notice on DMs saying they get deleted automatically?
