Do you get better pokeman card out of trainer boxes?

Pls hlep my friend is a pokeman coomer and wants cards for their birthday do I drop $100 on two trainer boxes or will they have the same chance of having rare/shiny/gud/whatever cards as the $60 two set of 8 sleeved booster packs? I may need this friend's liver in the future so if needs be I'll spend the money BUT ONLY if the nipponese jews actually provide a better product pls and thanks

Yeah you're going to want to give booster box for someone who already has a collection. Or you could just buy them a big book or binder to store cards in. When I was little, there were binder sleeves for 9 cards per page. They should still be around.
