I don't cook it anymore, but French toast is really good!
Whisk one egg, add a little bit of milk, a tiny pinch of salt, a few drops of vanilla extract, some cinnamon to taste and just dunk the bread in that. One whole egg per slice is the only way to do it.
If you want to truly be an Amerifat, cook two slices of French toast, put some cream cheese on one side of each slice, thinly slice a banana and couple of strawberries, place them in the cream cheese layer like a sandwich and then just let that heat a little on one side before serving. Top with maple syrup and/or icing sugar for pure, unadulterated diabeetus.
