Does anyone else feel fed up of the current state of things?

I touch a lot of grass, so I don't really give a fuck, but it's something I've observed. People are just polarised to fuck and nuance is dead. Why are people like this?

I'm going to have a extremely boomer take but unironically I blame social media. Pre-social media few gave a fuck about politics, now its jammed down your throat at every turn and being force fed into every algorithm

I select 'not interested' on anything political on jewtube but every so often it keeps throwing a entire row of political shit across my screen

I stopped using a smart phone for three or four years, and when I got one again this year my God, everything really is designed to make you angry or scared. I don't pay attention to the news, I also select "not interested" on anything political whenever I can, and it's still constantly in my face. Every news headline that shows up in my Google feed is clearly meant to piss me off or make me worry about something.
Twitter does this fucked up thing where it will give you a notification about someone's tweet that you don't even follow, that will say something like "you're a bitch" or some similar negative attention grabbing thing. They're not actually tweeting at you, it's just to get you mad and opening the app.
The shittiest part is that it spills over into the real world. Meet up with friends for dinner, and of course everyone has a strong opinion on damn near everything going on everywhere. I've seen more arguments between people over shit neither one of them really knows anything about in the last 5 years than the 15 before that. When did everyone become political experts?

I wish my "Boomer" takes were accompanied by Boomer levels of money to spend on vapid shit. It's true though, the thing that sucks is even older people are now hooked on various devices. I just don't really care for smart phones and only keep a phone on me at all for emergency use.

It's all around to keep you mad or focused on something inconsequential.

Yeah this is a big problem. I'll shit post on the farms because it makes me laugh, but IRL I honestly don't give a fuck about politics, or covid, or whatever wars are happening in shit hole parts of the world I'll never visit.
Yet, I can't just say "I don't care". I do say it, but then (usually at work) some nosy cunt will say "you don't care about infections/trump/immigrants/ukrainians/palestinians/jews?!?!?" and when I say "no", then people on both sides of the argument start reeeeing at me.

I remember a time when not giving a fuck was the way to live. When having no opinion on something you know nothing about was healthy and honest.
