Like I came back here after a month but I don't feel the same 'energy' browsing the farms like I used to. Does anyone else have the same thing?

Yeah except it's pretty weird that tons of people are having the same reaction at the same time (I thought it was just me honestly). That forces one to assume there are other factors at play here. That's an entirely normal reaction. You're going to lose interest in things now and then and to be honest the world of lolcows isn't as exciting as it used to be. I'd suggest dusting off an older hobby for a while and taking a proper break from the site.
Good point. Even I feel that things are getting hollow as a whole. I'm actually enjoying some of the discussions people are having about the Wild West internet days and sharing the content we used to follow more. I think there are lots of different factors in play and it isn't just one thing making the site feel the way it is right now to be quite honest.Yeah except it's pretty weird that tons of people are having the same reaction at the same time (I thought it was just me honestly). I think lots of long time users haven't been here primarily for the lolcows in a while and this has kind of been ongoing, but it's gotten much worse within the last few months.
Personally I think it's the internet as a whole, and that the whole thing is cannibalizing itself. I don't think taking a break then coming back is going to change that much, because it's not about the site or topic itself, it's about the world and the internet's place within it.
Yeah, I have to agree. I've been around since the cwcki forums and lately it feels like we're in the latter days of the site. The number of new posts in the threads I follow have fallen off precipitously. I hope that things go back to the way they were. I've had so much fun here over the years I'd hate to lose it.I definitely feel like there's a completely different vibe. It's almost like the site is emptier than before, back when the site was up regularly it was teeming with life and fun but now it's draining and not worth coming back to everyday. People are usually pretty fun on here but that's just gone now. It's a shame. Hopefully the Farms will thrive again and get that feeling back, I really don't want it to die out in the next 5+ years.
In February it will be 10 years. How old is kiwifarms anyways?
Is cwcki forums just an old name for it?In February it will be 10 years.
It all started with Christian Weston Chandler (or CWC) aka Chris-Chan.Is cwcki forums just an old name for it?
Is it schadenfreude to look at these people not to enjoy their suffering but to feel grateful I'm not them? When I think back to my 2018 days here, after a while it did seem as if my most frequent activity correlated to being under moments that felt a bit rougher than normal. Likely to seek out schadenfreude that would help pass times otherwise dreary.
Though, things were different then as well, of course. The site still remains despite everything that's been thrown at it the past few years, but even still, the forward march of time continues to make its progression known.
Probably not in the strictest sense, though I'm not enough acquainted with borrowed words to answer what other concept that'd be closest to.Is it schadenfreude to look at these people not to enjoy their suffering but to feel grateful I'm not them?
