Does Deep Thoughts (And the thunderdome at large) constitute the farms' own version of Academia?

I mean, bar the overarching gatekeeping required to perfect the form of academia as a means of humble, enlightenment conservativism fit for the 18th century where the good graces of a true enlightened fellow but instead we're all sick fucks who want to say "niggerfaggot" 24/7 and laugh at tards who willingly put themselves online, and yet seek to discuss the very nature of discourse. It is their call to make shit online.

Still, there is the theme of discussing ideas in grand form. Bar in the academic format, but in the forum format.

academy(n.)
mid-15c., Achademie, "the classical Academy," properly the name of the public garden where Plato taught his school, from Old French (Modern French Académie) and directly from Latin Academia, from Greek Akadēmeia "The Academy; the grove of Akadēmos," a legendary Athenian of the Trojan War tales (his name, Latinized as Academus, apparently means "of a silent district"), who was original estate-holder of the site.

Nobody teaches anything in Deep Thoughts. There are no regular classes taught there and no one considered a teaching authority. Nothing is published from there. Its more like a public forum.

Yeah, there should be a genuine deep thought forum, because this one is trollingshitfist and has nothing to do with deep thoughts

Deep thoughts is that shitty dive bar in one of the poorer ends of town that sells cheap beer and is open past its listed hours

I think I'd consider a few other boards closer to that, Art&Literature and Self-Sufficiency being two boards with a high ratio of informative threads/posts to shitposts. Meanwhile the Thunderdome gets "Debate user FaggotsSuckCock69 on why furry farts are not a source of renewable energy" and the like. Its not that healthy or interesting debate doesn't happen here, I'd just call it a lot more free-form than you'd assume from academia in general.

In the sense that "Deep Thoughts" tries to have the image of having deep, thoughtful discussion but is usually less intelligent than the world around it, yes.

("The world around it" being the rest of the forum, and what I mean is like, I've legit seen cases where Deep Thoughts over-analyzes a question that honestly isn't even that deep and that someone in another thread elsewhere already gave a more-than-satisfactory answer to).
