As possible as the notion of Chris hitting Rock Bottom seems(I have no idea why I capitalized that), does it even exist for him? I really think that if he were to hit RB, he'd have a massive epiphany and at least try and get his act together...otherwise it would just be his life getting to a certain point in its shitty downward spiral.

No, for CWC the abyss is endless and dark. Nowhere to go but down.

I agree. Chris's sloth, gluttony, greed, lust, vanity, jealousy, and wrath are so great that there is likely no depth he would sink to avoid work, effort, difficulty, or endevour

I was thinking rock bottom would be when he's homeless and he's sold all his possessions to pay rent for a seedy hotel room.

Even then, he'll still blame the trolls for his lot in life.

Nope, because he'll always find a way to sink lower every time we think he's hit bottom.

I guess we all hit rock bottom when we die because we can't do anything to be reverse dead.

Speak for yourself

If you mean rock bottom like the alcoholics do, where you fall so low that you realize that you need to change you life, then I don't think there's a bottom.

There really isn't a bottom in the literal sense either, when you think about it. Every time Chris reaches the bottom he just digs himself a new, deeper bottom. Although mathematically speaking there must eventually be a point at which he could literally fall no lower. It still wouldn't cause him even a nanosecond worth of introspection though.

Even when barb dies and he somehow screws up an loses the house and all of his belongings and is out on the street with absolutely nothing, he will never have the introspect to realize this is all his doing. He'll blame the trolls and Snyder and Greene County while he is starving and freezing.

Doesn't rock bottom involve suffering, though? Can't suffer when you're dead.

I doubt it, given how far down he is now. I don't think that any person capable of the realization that they are even a tenth as bad as Chris would keep digging like he is. He alienates everyone around him, he continues to bite like a wounded animal and he continues to show his complete ignorance (willful or not) of how he got there in the first place, as he continues to dig his hole!

I don't think Chris has a rock bottom and I look forward to seeing his antics as he continues to dig.

If he has a rock bottom, it would have to be very very low. I think the only ways he can hit rock bottom would be a homeless saga (I don't know if that could happen with the tugboat) or being Bubba's TomGirl in jail when he tries to hit someone else with his car.

Well, it might not happen until [cwc]Barbara[/cwc] kicks off and then Chris sells [cwc]14 Branchland Court[/cwc] or does something stupid to have it condemned. Then, yeah, he'll be homeless. To be honest, I think the jail/prison thing is much more likely to happen and much sooner.

Rock bottom is coming when Barb goes away. He'll realize how alone he truly is. Imagine him trying to make funeral arrangements?

You have to get into calculus to figure this out.

Good point. I think he'd piss away any money for Barb's funeral on vidya and shit from Adam & Eve.

Well, we know that Cole'll at least be happy about Barb's death.

Chris wouldn't be able to handle any type of arrangements...hell, I doubt that he'd know if she was dead or not. Most of the arrangements would be taken care of by surviving Aunts and Uncles if not Cole.

he whines and cries now about how awful everything is, but yet he has no idea how much bumpier this ride is going to get.
