Nah, just joking. I get not everyone likes chihuahuas. Absolutely adore mine though, even though my youngest is a little asshole towards strangers.

I think they call them Alsatians over there or so my Adrian Mole novels told me about Bert Baxter’s dog.

I did have a East German Shepherd as a kid, he was very stern and disciplined.

Dogs are great for companionship, but they're a lot more effort than cats, who can practically look after themselves. Worth it though.

The whole fantacism or "culture" around dogs gets under my skin, to be honest. It's not necessarily the dog's fault, but they're just okay. As a pet, they can be a huge money and time-consuming headache. They'll passively destroy and dirty-up your house, but I guess the same can be said for any pet.

Nor am I a big fan of cat worship, BUT, it is more socially acceptable to say you hate cats — not dislike, hate cats. Disliking cats is a justifiable preference, but disliking dogs makes you a monster. It's the same thing with reptiles. Snake owners have to deal with people telling them "I'd kill your snake if I saw it, lol" all of the time.

I don't like how dogs are used as a parameter to judge someone's character, either. I've known perfectly lovely people who were accused of being heartless for not wanting a dog. Dog Freaks will say insane, unverifiable things, like "my dog can sense if you're a good person" no it can't, bitch. All animals are capable of some degree of intuition if you keep them as pets long enough. Yours isn't special.

So, yeah, it might be a controversial opinion, but it shouldn't be. Dog Freaks are annoying as fuck, way more annoying than the barking or the dog shit. I think they're a really mediocre pet that shouldn't be the standard, given how much work and responsibility they are.

I used to be a snake owner, and honestly the comments I constantly got about how "gross" I was for keeping a snake were hard to keep up with. I never understood why people hated them. They have cute 'lil faces.
