1- I guess it works in story but am I the only one that loves him needless shipping characters for the pic? Like they couldn't fight evil or some other shit together?Story time!
When I donated to Chris, I requested a Silvana Rosechu, because I like to imagine her actually empty character as an indipendent evil woman that's ready to do whatever she feels is needed to reach her objectives, and I would have liked a plain drawing of her.
Only after the fact I realized my great error: to mention another character I like, Magi-chan, in the request!
and that's what I got
In one hand, it utterly clashes with my interpretation of both the characters, in the other, Chris said only one character drawing per donation, but those are actually two, and that's really nice.
On a side note, I have proof that She doesn't have only Rosechu stickers with her address.

2- Again maybe it's just me but they look like some The Fly experiment shit. Just melded together at the face. Great pic either way.

You know, I spent last week hopelessly saing to myself things like that, or that he would have been too true to his word/lazy and only draw her... I should have known how much Chris loves shipping by now.

For what I can see, they have only one nose in two, their fingers are actually spaghetti, and maybe it's canon but, looking at the legs, it seems that Silvana is taller than Magi-chan... that would actually be cute.

Also this is the most Chris has actually drawn of their relationship so you've got that, I guess.
Well, I got my sketch a few days ago and have been debating if I should post it or not but I guess I'm going to do it. As some of you may know I like lolita fashion, so I asked him if he would draw one of the Sonichus/Rosechus wearing lolita. I offered to send him a few links to example outfits. I also said that if that was too much work, he could just draw Rosechu in a "cute and fashionable outfit," since I was not sure how much effort he was planning to put into these donations sketches. Luckily, he responded, asking to send him a few links.
So I sent him links to five different lolita outfits I liked in various styles and colors , and I also said the character wearing it was up to him because I thought I was concerned I was asking for too much already. I also said, again, if it was too much work he could just draw Rosechu wearing something cute.
Well, he didn't respond to me afterwards but a few days later I got my envelope in the mail. Since different labels are being discussed, here's my Angelica label:
Since I don't much like Angelica I worried he had picked her for the sketch. But when I opened the letter I was pleasantly surprised to see he drew Zapina:
Overall I'm very happy with it! He did a pretty good job for someone who has probably never seen lolita fashion before, most people screw it up somehow. He got the details on the dress spot on. Zapina is still wearing tennis shoes but I guess the Sonichus don't really change their shoes anyway?
A takeaway from this thread seems to be that, so far, Chris is going slightly above his requirements for these donation pictures, drawing 2 characters instead of one, fulfilling odd requests, etc.

Not gonna lie, I actually think these are kind of charming. It's like we've gone back in time to the pre-trolling days. Reckon he could do international shipping?

that's actually a really nice drawing. I mean, we could complain that she has got a brocken neck... but damn, it's Chris we are talking about, we know how hers "style" works.
overall I agree with the nice things that have been said in this thread. those drawings are charming and made with effort... for Chris' standards, and it's nice to see characters that don't get that much spotlight in the comics.

At this point a good portion of people that want products from Chris already have them. No doubt a few will for new merch but I assume most people here don't. Not sure what @DStecks spending his money has to do with any of this.

I'm not butthurt about that, but I am bewildered.
I actually really do hope more people donate for sketches, they are a delight.
You can look at his Etsy sales and see a few more people have bought them, but haven't gotten them yet, or don't want to post or some other reason. He has sold donation sketches to at least 15 individuals.
The sketches just seem like a good deal. $30 or $50 is a lot. I never would have bought a regular commission at that price. And what do you get thats extra, a background maybe? I don't think most people care, they just like the character designs. "Character sketches" are popular at con artist alleys for a reason.
My hope is that he continues producing interesting sketches and lets people get a little creative with them. Like I would probably get another sketch if I thought of something else I wanted. For $10 why not?
One last thing of note. I am not familiar with Etsy but it seems like you can sort by "most sales":
