Dont get windows 11 - Its evil

I don't like thinking about computers because on one hand transsexuals love corporations and consoomerism but on the other hand they also love tech autism.

So if I just update to Windows 11 then I'm being like a transsexual by blindly acquiescing to corporate entities, but I'll also be like a transsexual if I spend enough time thinking/researching operating systems and stuff in order to do otherwise.

I don't know what to do, I'm so confused. I don't want to cut off my genitals 😓
living rent free and shitting in your property. who cares if a mentally ill individual uses the same shit as you, has the same interests as you, or is vaguely associated with something you use; there's always going to be at least one no matter what you're into.
base your opinion on the product itself and not the retards behind it or infesting the community, linux and its distros may be filled with the mentally ill and stallman followers, but it's a good OS choice for more advanced users who use their computers for more than reading emails and vidya.

I've watched what you post enough to know that you're pretty much on-par with a transsexual anyway, so why are you trying to not act like one?

The writing has been on the wall for a long time. Keep a decent Windows machine and basically treat it like an Xbox if you're into modern gaming. Invest in something like whatever the current version of the Rpi 400 in the future for shitposting, old games, piracy and general computing once all the old hardware gets too dated to be useable.

Install something like Linux Mint and don't delve into configurations too much. Don't mention it unless someone asks about your computer.
Gratz, you're a normal Linux user and it's so piss-easy that I know boomers who voluntarily use Mint without issue.

Personally, I stopped using Windows when Windows 8 was the most recent one, though not due to Windows 8, and haven't looked back and I play games. I'm not addicted to any game so much though that if it doesn't work flawlessly I get the sweats and have to install Windows just to play it.

People should just use the time to learn Linux while you can still use Windows 7 or 10 as a fallback. I installed EndevourOS immediately had thumbnails fail to load, immediately uninstalled it and went back to W10 for a bit. The learning curve is real I just didn't expect it to be breaking on launch, still never putting W11 on my PC.
I think that your problem with thumbnails might be that either thumbnailing was not enabled by default, thus you'll have to go to settings and toggle it, or you were missing packages for certain thumbnail generators, thumbnailers like the ones for video or office might not be included by default in the EndevourOS flavor so you'll have to grab them from the software installer (e.g. ffmpegthumbnailer for videos in GNOME or ffmpegthumbs plus kdegraphics-thumbnailers for both video and graphics formats in KDE/Plasma).

Why would you install some obscure distro that advertises itself as "terminal-centric" if you want a beginner friendly Windows alternative?

Because going by youtube it was shilled a a beginner friendly distro that would help you get to grips with arch. I chose it over Manjaro because I heard Manjaro had some issues with funds behind the scenes and Null also seemed to be having issues with it breaking, so Endeavour sounded like a better option. I figured I should go with arch based distros since I see so many of them being pushed (Arch, artix, manjaro, endeavour, garuda, etc) and the AUR is generally considered a useful resource. Oh and I had mixed messages with ubuntu where people said it was a good distro, only to be met with people saying it's pretty much no different to windows with spying.

I probably should have just gave Manjaro a shot. I know Linux Mint exists, but I just think most people will move to Arch based distros in the future so I may as well learn it now to minimize hopping around.

Ew, no, gross. Took me long enough to unfuck Windows 10. Manjaro Linux is alright, got it running on an ARM notebook. Not too bad for a daily driver, but depends what your use case is.

Had it on my new laptop until my SO helped me get rid of it for a de-Cortana'd 10. I couldn't even use my laptop when I first booted it up until I entered the Microsoft crap it wanted, and even then it constantly asked for access to send over. Fuck 11.

If you fell for the Arch meme, so do these commands when you mount your iso (provided you have networking)
pacman -Syy
pacman -S archinstall

then execute the archinstall command. its literally easier then installing windows
