If criticizing Troonworld openly means war, then sure, DB and KF are the only ones fighting it, but i'm pretty sure we're not the only ones who dislike the state of the community as a result of the people in charge of the biggest Doom forum. The fact that the majority of the community spends more time on Discord and a lof (if not most) CPs are being developed there, speaks volumes. No one can convince me that fucking Discord is a more convenient and better place for CP development. It's a fucking nightmare to do anything there.

Again, what these retards fail to realize is the very simple truth - most communities outside Troonworld, want to stay in good terms with them so they can use them as a platform for project releases. If there was an equally popular alternative, Doomworld will die a quick death unter their curent regime.

Do you think the Russian Community gives a shit, or want to be friends with the fucking troons in charge? Some of their more prominent members are either banned or blacklisted by the troons already. Even on Troonworld there are many silent critics, who don't speak up for the same reasons . I think it's obvious when you see how little activity there is for a forum with 40 thousand registered users. What do you think is the actual number of active users right now? And i don't mean active as users who login on regular basis, i mean users who actually post and engage in discussions. All i see are the same 100 or so names every day, and a lot of newly registered nobodies, most of which make a few posts, maybe drop a shittry "first map" and then disappear, never to be seen again. I'm not sayng only a 100 registered viewers visit the forum, no, there are thousands of them, but they don't post... that doesn't look like a very healthy forum/community to me. Even those who don't give a crap about what's going on, have no reason to be active, because Doomworld is fucking boring and souless, and again, who's to blame for that?

I'm amazed these troons don't realise the irony of corrupting a game where you are a toughened marine where you must slay demons. And they are metaphorical ones, corrupting people around them. Do they believe Doomguy would be pro troon wrongs? The opinion of the part featherhead John Romero doesn't matter, John Carmack was the big one.

I tried getting into Doom, it was hard. I plan trying again eventually. Yet I will not lie: I'm not a "OG DOOM FAN!!!111". I played Doom 2016, but absolutely hated what Nu-Doom did by making Heaven evil. So fuck this reboot, the classics are the only one that matter.

I beat the first 10 Doomer Board Projects and I must say, they're pretty good. They last about 30minutes-2hours each and are usually 7-8/10s. I can see why TroonWorld hates them.

I beat the first episode of Ashes because I remember Sam Hyde recommending it as well as impie's "Mask of Sobesk" . I'm halfway through Neon Overdrive and I can see the modern mapping trends everyone is talking about:

-Ammo starvation

-Archviles and other high tier enemies fucking everywhere

-Maps that look pretty but are awful to play

After a while I decided to cheat, but Its a shame because I really liked the vaporwave aesthetic of the first couple of levels and thoroughly enjoyed "My Soul Trapped in a WIN98 PC" so I wanted more. Maybe someday Doomer boards will fill in that niche.

Thanks for getting me back into doom guys, whens the next Kiwi Farms community project?

Try DBP37, AUGER;ZENITH. Considered one of their best works and is fully in a similar aesthetic. If you ask me it's what Neon Overdrive was trying to rip off.
