From what I can gather - Mark fed his own composition to Suno, for whichever effect he desired - and then posted it. Once again, AI only changed his music, because overall the melody is his own. And it's SERIOUS BUSINESS, to the point that the DW guys are in a state of total disenchantment with the man.
 
I bet if Mark Klem was proven to be a kid diddler, a thought of making a thread exposing him would never cross their minds.

Doomworld is a very, very close relative of SomethingAwful. Linguica (site owner) is a former SA goon and would use SA terminology/mannerisms frequently when he would post. Half of the "fun" of SA back in the day was just piling on random people to shit on them and that culture carried over to DW because he ardently refused to draw lines in the sand about what was acceptable.

Surprise, half the fucking site is miserable people eating each other because that's also what they did on SA for fun. Almost all of Doomworld's current woes can be attributed to Linguica and other controlling parties wanting to create a SA-style forum and then refusing to do anything when it predictably became toxic.
 
Speaking of Linguica, I remember this funny part when he posted his example of 'vanilla conveyor belt' and people on the thread weren't too impressed by it and... I don't remember what he exactly said (and I can't seem to find the thread either) but he was shocked he didn't get the ass-kissing he anticipated he would get. lmao

The 'vanilla conveyor belt' consisted of a crusher that caused an explosive barrel to push (and damage you) a voodoo doll on the edge of the floor part of the sector and slowly move through the linedef that has a W action.
(If you guys have ever seen a corpse sometimes sliding on the different height border between two sectors, that's what this is all about.)

I think that this whole thing also got a Cacoward but I don't remember.

Linguica came up with that? Interesting. I use it on a very rare occasion, when I want to set up a switch to perform more than one action. What sucks about it is the screen flashing, indicating the player is taking damage and collecting health at the same time, because you have to place a stimpack or two on top of the voodoo doll to prevent the player from dying if he presses the switch on low health... it somehow works, and you're safe from death even if you press it on 1% health and no armor. You also have to place the barrel at the right distance, to guarantee that it will always push the voodoo doll enough on ITYTD to trigger the actions, while also doing minimal damage on UV. Then you have to playtest the fucking thing a million times. It's really not worth the headache, but when done right, the only annoyance for players is the screen flash.

To call it a conveyor is a big stretch, though, considering how much more you can do with an actual conveyor on Boom. I bet people got disappointed because they thought he actually figured out a way to make a perpetually moving voodoo doll in vanilla. Speaking of which, I've read something about "mikoportal" voodoo scripts, but i never bothered to dig into them, because they don't work in ZDoom based ports, and i prefer my maps to be compatible with everything. Also from reading about it on the wiki, functionality wise, they don't seem to be much more useful that the plain vanilla voodoo closet. I guess they allow for more complex sequences, but still require a crusher and a barrel.

I guess that could be true for when Doomworld was relatively new but now, they refuse to draw the line only for the KKKlub. Anybody who doesn't kiss their ass, will have their lines drawn the second they decide to pile on anybody (or in some cases, call someone out in a civil way with evidence).

That's true. I remember my breaking point was the drama around ID24. When the thread was first posted people understandably had concerns around it "ensuring the continued commercial viability of Doom and Doom II." IIRC it also required that LoR commercial assets be loaded even if the modder wasn't using the new things/weapons.

Then they started deleting posts, banning port developers like Kraflab and Dasho, trying to say the thread was an RFC when they were deleting posts, etc.. So many people I recognized in the community just left or were seriously burned by what was obviously a brazen attempt to hijack the community and push Bethesda's own editing standards (i.e the spec clarifies that it's DSDHACKED-style limit-removing but id software gets their own ID range for future expansions + you need the commercial pwad loaded to play id24 wads.)

I'm just kind of in awe at the hypocrisy of it all. Graf Zahl was allowed to run around the community for years shitting on other community members, doing laughably bad gayops on anotak over lilith.pk3, and generally being an insufferable douche that we could have done without. And yet he was allowed to stick around, but Kraflab, the head dev for one of the best sourceports in the community, gets kicked out because he dared to call Gooberman a GPL launderer.

I really really wish you could mark a DW thread as serious replies only because stuff like this is a major reason as to why I stopped using the site eons ago. If you post any discussion you get one serious, well-thought out reply followed by 200 dipshits trying to updoot farm like it's fucking reddit.
 
So I'm curious for all the shit Graf Zahl (rightfully imo) gets for GzDoom running poorly for an engine to run doom mods, has UZDoom addressed that?
