Doomworld - AKA Troonworld, a dedicated safe space for pedophiles and megalomaniacs - Corrupting the Doom community since 2016

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I like these things. I also love heavy detail as long as it doesn't get in the way of movement and gameplay.
Sure, they're not bad qualities in and of themselves and I agree they can be done well. A lot of popular wads don't always seem to get this, though, with overwrought visuals and lacklustre gameplay. I generally hate slaughter wads too, of which that tends to be a prime feature.

Who's to blame here? Why were mod cunts sleeping the whole time?
Its pretty apparent to me they were waiting for RMG to slip up in that manner so they could unperson him. How long he had been active is of little consequence. Many such cases. He's still mapping over at Doomer Boards, though.

Makes me think Troonworld mods follow an unwritten rule that says 'a mod's pet should act like a pathetic insufferable faggot all the time and pretend he's better than any other user who doesn't suck mods' dicks'.

Not all mods, just one, and we all know who he is. Well, of course, it's the "wadist homosexual". In case anyone is wondering how a troon gets his ego boost on troonworld, that's how:

01.jpg02.jpg03.jpg04.jpg

Of course, MountFag27 joins the party as well, because he's a known buddy of Troonkid, and even reviews all of his community and solo projects. Now he's going to review Trooncission at some point, because, i guess, the author is his newest troon buddy. On a side note, i don't think making two megawads in less than a calendar year is worthy of a congratulation, because if you're someone who makes 64 maps in less than 12 months, you clearly have no life, you don't see the sun very often (if at all), and you're probably in desperate need of mental help.
Is his upcoming Dean of Doom review deserved, though? I don't know. I haven't played that megawad, and i don't plan to, because i don't touch fag creations. It could actually be good for all i know, but i don't give a shit, because it's undeservedly endorsed by known members of the community, bringing a lot more attention to it, than what promising new mappers, without Troonworld connections, could ever hope for. I don't know how Troonsalotl got so tight with the Kool Kidz in such a short period after registration (probably blowjobs), but it clearly pays off for the fag, big time. How often do you see Troonkid or any other mod bother to endorse anything outside their circle? They might play something they like, but if it's made by somebody they don't care about, they'll never say a word. Meanwhile, Troonkid goes out of his way to endorse another abomination made by another one of his retarded buddies. I'm talking about "Crate Expectations", an ugly as fuck, borderline joke megawad, that consist of nothing but stupid gimmicks from start to finish.

@ArticleWriter you mentioned Snaxalotl being exposed for insulting mappers before? Is there anything we can see? That will be fun.

To add to the Firefly discussion. I think the main problem with that abomination is how unoriginal it is. It wants to be Sunlust so bad. And fuck Sunlust by the way. I've been watching some gameplay videos of Sunlust by Dario Casali, and even he knows it sucks ass, but doesn't outright say it (he did say it in his Evening with Troonvana interview). The fact that he didn't play the whole thing and, by his words, "only picked the map he thought were interesting" (6 maps in total, lol), speaks for itself. The gameplay is basically getting locked in an arena with barely any space to move around the horde that suffocates you in there, only to then move to another arena where the whole scenario gets repeated with a different monster arrangement. It's trial and error of the worst kind, an endless repetition, because there's no room for making mistakes... Who the fuck enjoys this? I get it, it's about the challenge, but who can sit down and play a full megawad of nothing but that? Whoever it is, they have way too much free time on their hands.

But to get back to Firefly, the worst thing about it is not just the copied visuals, and unnecessary details (Did you see some of the floors in that abomination? Have fun getting that motion sickness), it's that all maps have the exact same theme and repetitive two-tone visuals. No effort has been made to actually create something unique and varied, something to stand on its own merit. I bet the author just looked at some Sunlust screenshots, and thought, yeah, i'll do that.

Not very often, outside of some token "this looks cool/gonna play ASAP/congrats on the release" thing that most popular wads get from people who probably aren't gonna actually play it, they're just jumping on a hype train. It is true though that the "right" people giving attention to your wad will boost it considerably, especially if it ends up getting a Cacoward. Which brings me to another point that by now doesn't need to be said, but I'll do it anyway: the Cacowards are just a popularity contest, despite the mods constant assurances to the contrary. There are some exceptions, but by and large it seems to be about signal boosting those who tow the party line, as well as the same people giving eachother asspats every year. Its a shame that the only viable alternative, Doom Awards, turned out to be a retarded shitshow.

It reminds me of some things I saw 40oz say not long before he disappeared: firstly, that the Doom community isn't a community, but instead a collection of fiefdoms spread out across Discords shit-talking eachother. Its incredibly fractured once you look past the surface level. Second, that Doomworld cares more for the prestige of certain users rather than uplifting its general userbase. Say what you will about 40oz, I think he had some good points to make on the community as a whole, as someone who had been around for long enough to remember when it was less retarded (like most of us too I presume). Notably, I never played a map by him I didn't enjoy. Its good that his departure didn't kill the DBP series, as mentioned earlier in the thread they keep that old classic spirit of Doom maps while constantly trying new themes. They're not always great, but they're consistently playable and fun in my experience.

Which makes it even more hilarious how the DW retards have "banned" DBP from ever being mentioned in the Cacowards again, as if the Auger Zenith drama wasn't retarded enough. I never played Zeppelin Armada but it was obviously extremely popular, and they couldn't have something like that taking up valuable Caco space (is it really that taxing to just....write more? about other things? If they really gave a shit, they'd be looking to expand this), the excuse being some inter-forum drama from years ago the average forum user today shouldn't be expected to give a fuck about if they weren't around for it. Yet strangely, that doesn't stop people who have previously mapped for DBPs getting awards of their own - deserved awards, perhaps, but the incongruence should be highlighted. I thought guilt by association was a favoured concept for these types? Maybe they realise that would be going too far and cause a (long overdue) backlash against the staff there.

@God's Own Sling , what is the case with 40oz's disappearance? Has he shared something behind the scenes? I know he stopped posting since before the cacowards, so i doubt it was because ZA didn't get a mention. He's still logging in on DB from time to time, but has been silent about the whole thing. I doubt he'll stay away from the DBS's for a long time though, he's probably busy now and that's why he doesn't run the projects at the moment. As someone who has been consistently mapping for 15 years, i doubt he'll just quit out of the blue without saying anything about it.

His take on the state of the community is something i can agree with. There's just too much ego among the popular members... ego that shouldn't exist because we're talking about making maps for a 30-year-old game... it should be something we make for fun, not pride. Yes, we should try to make the best maps we can, but at the end of the day, our feet should stay firmly on the ground, because nothing about the process of making Doom maps is all that spectacular, it just takes a bit of basic knowledge and the rest is creativity, which you either have or you don't have.
But what happens when you have a bunch of awkward, antisocial, anime-loving, nerds, who also happen to be gay (most of them), or trans, and who never got any attention by anyone in real life? Put a bunch of these weirdo characters to run a large forum, and the result is Troonworld. All of a sudden, they get all the praise and ass-kissing they know they'll never get outside the internet (fuck it, not even outside the Doom community), and it becomes a matter of life and death to them. It's no longer about making maps and just having fun - this is their life, their whole fucking existence, and they'll protect it at all cost, from anyone who tries to challenge them or tell them how ridiculous they are with their stupid social pandering, nepotism, troon values and retarded cacoawards. And they are indeed fucking delusional, i guarantee you, some of them actually believe to be on the same level as legendary video game developers, even though most of them will never make a dime for wasting their life making their autistic maps.

I've played Abscission & I'll give you guys a very short review of it.
It's basically Doom 2 but with horror atmosphere & ambient midis which do a mediocre job.

The texture usage is terrible, especially with the later maps. It's very unpleasant to look at. Folks criticize stock textures a lot but even with those, you can create a cohesive theme. This isn't the case here.

It also contains issues that should be ironed out, like HOM effects and the progression sometimes lacks intuitive design. I got stuck frequently wandering around, looking for any sign that might lead to progression.

The fights were the best part of it interestingly enough. Not easy but nothing too difficult. Not a slaughter wad, which gets a credit from me.

As for two megawads in less than a year, yea, that's definitely not worthy of a praise. Creating 32 maps alone is a huge task, so 64 maps is an enormous undertaking which IF Snax actually made two megawads in 12 months, then they are something of a very low quality garbage or at best, mediocre.

So Rasta Man had a fair point when he showcased the troon's retarded texture use in that post from the shared link above? That's funny. We all say the gameplay is the most important thing, and it's true, but while you don't need a ton of detail and 50k lines to make a good-looking map, the need of good texture use cannot be understated, if the Snaxalotl's texture work is like in the screenshots shared by Rasta Man, then yeah, the troon still has some things to learn.

I not only agree that classic textures can be used to set a good theme, i actually think it's way easier to set a theme wiht them than with something that is not so familiar to the classic players. Of course i'm talking about setting up a classic theme like Techbase, Hell, City, or Medieval-gothic, not modern two-colored abominations. Tech base texture all go well together for a sci-fi theme, then you have the marble and wood to set the hellish theme. The brown brick and windows textures are to set old, almost Wild West or medieval themed maps, also in combination with wood. And then you have outdoors textures that can be used in combination with all other themes. The gray "concrete" type textures are perfect for city based and even brutalism themes. There is so much you can do, and you don't need much to do it. You can make perfectly decent map with 4-5 textures (not counting support textures, doors and computer panels) and 2-3 flats (without counting the liquid textures). That's all you really need, you just need to know how to use the textures well. The rest is geometry/architecture and sector lighting, if you have that going, you're the boss.

@Zacharin X he was dealing with some IRL problems and wasn't happy with the forum. 40oz is pretty left-leaning politically and he supports all that gayniggertranny rights BS and I think he was upset that most of the Doomer Boards userbase doesn't share his views. But despite all of this, he'd never ban or silence anyone for voicing their opinion. He was against using gamer words on the forum though, saying this violates ProBoards rules and could get the forum in trouble which is understandable but it wasn't a big deal in the past because I saw some old posts that contained words like nigger and retard in them. I'm hoping he'll return some day because he's the most level-headed and chill guy I met in the whole community. If you'll look at the development threads for DBPs, you'll see that he's always trying to give helpful advice and compliment mappers on their work and also never shits on the maps even if he had a really bad time playing them and he prioritizes fun above anything else when it comes to mapping. He's one of the people that helped me realize that a lot of the Troonworld mapping tropes like mandatory platforming over death pits or fights that heavily rely on preknowledge are dogshit.

@Übermensch Doom Cuck thanks for sharing this, I wasn't planning on playing it anyway but your post made me want to download it just to see how ugly the maps are. Will probably make some screenshots later.
Also I didn't play it myself and only watched a couple of playthroughs, but I think it's a good opportunity to shill DBP64 if anyone's interested in playing a Doom 64 ''inspired'' (it uses D64 textures and sprites lol) wad with a strong horror atmosphere.

I like that idea, a lot! Let's see some world-class texture use. Want to have a little competition, to see who will discover more examples of poor texturing in Troonscission? Thought i'll tell you right now, i am not playing these maps, i'll load them with no monsters and have a quick stroll.

Are the DBP development threads open for non-participants? I've been on the forum for some time, but i have never noticed an active development thread... either that, or i'm not paying enough attention, which is also possible.

They used to be, but I think 40oz hid those threads from guests after the Auger;Zenith drama happened so you need to be registered on there to see them.

Fuck that, i just took a quick look in the first two maps, and i probably could have made 50 screenshots with examples of poor alignment and lack of border/support textures. There is no attention to the small details here. We have doors and computer panels jammed into walls with no separation from the wall texture, floor flats used on window and computer panel frame tops... it's quite bad. The architecture and lighting is actually alright, and with some texture polish the maps can look way, way better, but for Troonkid to praise it as Cacoward worthy candidate and one of the best vanilla wads ever made, when he has a video on his channel explaining how important texture alignment and the use of support texture is? Come one, it's laughable. Clear nepotism, nothing more.

I played it for a bit too, saw some misaligned textures and shit, but other than that I think the maps look painfully average. I hate the fact that these retards think 'vanilla' style means you have to go out of your way to make rookie mistakes because that 'emulates' id Software maps (nevermind that map editors from the 90s didn't have 3D camera mode, godawful texture aligning is actually cool because it's AuTheNtIc). Can't say anything about the gameplay since I played it with nomonsters parameter on.

I'm not even sure if the shitty alignments are intentional, i just think the troon is clueless, that's all. Besides, even Romero and co. almost always placed support textures when connecting two different walls, or when separating door and computer panels frames from the surrounding walls. I don't remember Romero doing lazy shit like this in 1993:

And that's only in the first one and half maps... and these are not even all the things i've noticed, but most of them were repetitive mistakes, so i didn't screenshot them.

Troons can't into aesthetics.

Stop overthinking this. The part of their brain that can differentiate between Nice and Fucking God Awful is mush. I, for one, enjoy having a very definite visual tell that denotes a tranny.wad, because I can put it straight into the fucking bin where it belongs.

There's a quite few issues with using stock textures imo. There's been hundreds of dogshit maps that consist of nothing but ugly square rooms with one texture plastered on every wall so when you see a map that only uses stock textures, you'll automatically associate it with those maps, unless...
a) the map only uses a few selected textures (except for shit like light and support textures) and stays true to one selected theme throughout the map. Maybe I'm the only one who has a gripe with this, but to me it's really jarring when you go into one room and it's marble hell and then the next room is a techbase and the only thing separating them is a tiny doorway or a small ugly corridor.
b) the map is autistically detailed to the point where it doesn't even look like a Doom map anymore. Think stuff like Counterattack or Brigandine (I love Brigandine btw, it's overly detailed but still manages to look coherent and the combat is challenging but fair imo).

My mind still can't process how something like Doom of all things ended up being poisoned so much by trannyism.

It's not surprising, because the Doomworld founder is a sackless shit. If Linguica and Mordeth had some balls, the standards will be different. Instead, they allowed the forum to be run by fags. Like, who do they pander to with that shit? It's not like it's a political forum, what's the point? Put me in charge and see what happens... I'm joking of course, if i am to run the place now, that will most likely result in it crashing and burning. But if i was a founder and owner of it right from the beginning, i would've never let it turn into what it is now. At the very least, there wouldn't be any narcissistic fags in charge, and newbies who spam the wad development threads with their low effort shit, will be properly scolded. In other words, there will be some quality standards. There might even be a secondary subforum for playtesting and low effort newbie wads, where they can get proper constructive feedback on their shitty work, so they can improve, unlike how it is now, with everyone saying "good job" to the most retarded, boxy, unlit abominations.
