You know what's funny? In comparison, the Troonworld/Ztroon forums crowd would have absolutely no qualms to fuck with people for loading Brutal Doom with their shitty ass mods and maps, I kid you not - I've seen it discussed so many times in so many places it's funny how salty they are about it. Case in point - Doomworld has an entire fucking etiquette page about loading mods with their maps, sperging about people being themselves and doing as they please. I am obviously siding with the userbase here, even if I understand their frustration, I've been there too. It is absolutely not worth getting yourself worked over it, though.

They may say "getting misgendered and your ears bleed is a LITERAL ASSAULT!!!" to Terrywad shenanigans like that, but their attempt at brigading people over guise of compatibility would be, imo, no less hypocritical and deserving of scrutiny. If someone fucked up by loading stuff that is incompatible with your work, just tell them so and move on. If someone reports to you with obvious signs it's not your work's fault, you know even more so by just asking for the error report and a list of what did they load with it. It's not that hard.

Yes, sometimes it can turn into a lot of detective work to figure out what went wrong, but babysitting people who are new or unaware to all this stuff is part and parcel of being a modder. Sometimes, you don't even have to do anything at all, as the forum goers that are still there for modding, imagine that - they will troubleshoot their problems by themselves, no need to even bother the author. To summarize - they're full of shit.

I would make a pretty well established wad. Purposely add an issue one of the maps, then update it later. Or just tell that you'll add new stuff or revamp some map or two. Sneak the script in on that update/fix.

Forgive me for replying this late. After remembering about the comments of BoA's ModDB page, I remembered another thing. When Torm or Jedi were talking about potential problems with German Law being caused by the mod's "questionable" shite like concentration camp zombies, one bloke there brought up "Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2", which happens to have those even in the German version.

I looked the game up and to my surprise, that son of a bitch was right! Not only there are a few undead concentration camp prisoners in the final level, but the females even have bare legs and bouncing tits! With all of it being present in the German version!

And nobody had problems with it being in the game about cartoony Italian gangster killing other cartoony gangsters along with cartoony American soldiers, zombies and nazis!

I've said it a while back, but once Graf's gone, I really, really doubt there'd be anyone "normal-minded" (cause really, you have to be a bit on the spectrum to do anything with an oldass engine source port for this long) and competent enough to pick up that mantle, given it's years of stuff to take care of on the way. But hey, there's plethora of programmer socks wannabes just THROBBING waiting to add pronouns to the engine!... which implementation got gunned down in the blaze of glory, on the premise of being shit, so that should give you enough of an idea with what kinda potential talent to take up on it we're dealing with here. Only if you want something more than Original Doom engine pentacle. I.e. Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Strife and Hacx.

In that case yes, it does. But the point is that people start to use gzdoom to make their own games, and more than a half of these are complete dogshit.

I stick to the actual modding portion of the site as a hobby, that part of the site is actually relatively ok. Everything Else is where the retardation really falls through.
