Boom and MBF21 lets you do a lot of that kind of stuff natively and have it not break if someone plays with mouselook and hardware rendering.
There's however an undeniable charm in being able to squeeze just the original .exe and format to the nth degree to do things like that, some dude more or less demade Ghoul's Forest 3 with Vanilla DeHacked and all new low res graphics, All-Ghost's Forest. It's remarkably close and it looks fantastic.

I've mapped in Boom a bit, maybe five or so finished levels. It's fun, but like you pointed out I love the novelty of using Vanilla and really pushing things. I'm definitely going to take a look at that Ghoul's Forest 3 demake though. Looks good.

I think this guy (Zardoz) is retarded. While I do agree with his comment, I don't see why he's wasting his time spamming comments like this. He's not going to make anyone reevaluate their views on current state of Doom mapping, opinions of people who like Ribbiks, Nirvana, Insane_Gazebo and other overrated mappers won't be swayed by this comment and people who already agree with him don't need any validation. To me he looks like the faggot from 'STOP HAVING FUN!' meme. Let's say I did a few major missteps in life a few of which have led me into big troubles. .

One being army service that costed me both my physical and mental health. I still suffer from left foot injury I've got back then. Because it wasn't treated proper I'm suffering every day with the foot and joints having it bad every day after work and during work. can't even wake up and walk normal, I limp as if I was some sort of a zombie because of this injury of mine.
The other one was a direct consequence of this and I still fill like absolute shit about it.
Because on one hand, I've let myself to get groomed (the grooming of adults is a thing too, though it have a different name), on the other I've lost myself in army and tried to build myself back. Well it went as you might to expect and I've ended up here.
Being such a fool and useful idiot hsve costed me a lot of fortune, of good name and alias I grew into. Now I'm just a tainted shell of past-past self grown up even more hateful than I ever was.

Man, this is just pure entertainment. This is typical of a critical Doomworld thread about a wad. Even though i can't stand Clippy's content, i was too curious to miss on what this map is about, and why it made him brake his fake character of being "the all-around nice guy on Troonworld". I think he was right about one thing, the map is an unplayable dogshit, but he also played it like ass, which is typical for him as he is one of the worst Doom players in the community. He was defenitelly stoned in the video, and was repeating the same terrible tactics over and over and over again, expecting different result, while he kept rocketing himself in the face. Just another proof how much of a retard this guy is, completely unwachable!

The KevvyLava is right about many things, especially about the repetitve nature of the combat in the modern Kool Kidz garbage wads, so it's no surprise that they dogpiled on him in the team Squonker-fag thread and in Myolden shitty Doom CIty CP thread. Check his profile, and read his responses in these threads, he deliveres some harsh truth to the fags who question his dislike of every key and weapon pickup being a revenant-archvile teleport ambush. The Squonker retards are all one trick ponies. Their architecture and visuals, all copy Kool Kidz wads like BTSX, Valiant and Ancient Aliens, while their combat is the same repetitive dogshit criticized by Kevvy. If the community wasn't so misguided and delusional, no one would have given a shit about this group of mappers and their work.

half of the appeal of doom modding lies in your ability to fuck with the game. Few games allow you to do that. I probably won't play this and I don't even think it's very fun to play in the first place, but I know it must have been very fun to make.

I played the map and holy shit its so bad, looks like this person has had a lot of fun experimenting and not really asking themself is this fun to play? I'm not sure if he even had an account there in the first place. Who knows but from what I've heard, he & John (Andrea) were playing games together & BZ made a joke towards him & he took it seriously, they got into a fight & since then, they hate each other's guts. That's just from what I've heard.

But in general, BZ is just some retard who got very angry that he couldn't apply for Twitch partner program & was obsessively trying to get it one way or another. He also faked his death because he wanted to get rid of any trolling he received but that didn't seem to stop it. lmao At least for the time being.
